Excel Hardwood Floor Refinishing

I highly recommend Excel Hardwood Floor Refinishing. Chris and Mike show up on time and do excellent work.We replaced the carpeted and engineered wood floor coverings in a concrete apartment building with new engineered wood. The work included removal of the old flooring and preparation of the concrete floor to make it flat by using a quick set cement to fill in the low areas. Chris provided advice for selection of materials for the floors and trim. Throughout the project Chris consulted me for decisions. The installation went smoothly and the floors look great!

We had Chris redo the floors in one of our bedrooms, they were original to the home from 1952. They have had layers of carpet and glue for many years. Chris was able to refurbish and even replace a few damaged boards and they now look amazing.Even more impressive was during the sanding process, there was literally no dust, that was a huge shock to use.Chris is very responsive, and has a passion for what he does. We plan on using him again to do our master bedroom in the future.

Chris and his crew did an amazing job restoring, repairing and refinishing our 1959 Red Oak floors. His team worked hard and went above and beyond to deliver us an unbelievable finished product. The attention to detail and dedication to the project was second to none, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It is obvious that Chris cares deeply about hard wood floors, as he did not cut any corners and is deeply committed to excellence. Work was completed on time and on budget.At the end of the project we had an unfortunate situation (break in at the job site) in which a marauder walked all over the final, still wet, coat of oil based poly. Although it was an unbelievably unfortunate turn of events, Chris responded by immediately coming back to site to assess the situation, even though he was enjoying time with his family on a Sunday afternoon. His crew returned the very next day to remedy the situation. Respect!

We had Chris and crew come to our home 9 years ago to help us with refinishing our hardwood floors. To say he did a good job is an understatement. Our floors to this day is my favourite feature of our home.Chris came up with a one off stain that impressed both my wife and I. We recently had our kitchen renovated and while appliances were being delivered damage was done to our top nosing leading into our brand new kitchen, I was devastated. Called chris and explained our situation. Sent photos and Chris agreed to come have a look. He fixed the problem in short order, and I challenge anyone to find the spot that was damaged! I have maple engineered flooring in my Sidney condo. Several slats were coming loose and I did not have replacement flooring. I called Chris at Excel Flooring and after discussing, he came to my condo and upon discussing, was able to remove several slats without damaging them. He returned twice to glue them back and placed weights on top to get the boards completely flat. He explained each step and was always prompt for appointments. He is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him and if I replace my flooring, he would get the first call.

Chris and Mike refinished the home office and hall floors in our 1938 house using an oil based product. They did a very professional job. The floors, which had been stained and later covered with carpets for decades, now look modern, light and lustrous.As advertised, the sanding produced almost no dust which was amazing. Chris then took great care to repair the floor and fill in any old nail holes or other imperfections before applying the first coat of product. The whole process took four days - three coats of product with a full day of drying between each coat.We are very happy with the results. Chris provided a great service at a very reasonable price. We recently had Chris (owner) and Mike with Excel Hardwood floor Refinishing strip and refinish our 25 year old maple hardwood floors throughout our house. The floors had really honeyed with age and were very amber in color as well as starting to show their age.Chris came in person to review the job and provided us with a quote promptly. He arrived on the scheduled date and promptly got to work. Chris continually communicated with us over the 2 weeks it took to complete this job. We could not be happier.
