Disclosure: I am fully aware that our health care system is stretched. However, there is no excuse for the terrible treatment from this clinic.Without going through the appointment process (see other reviews), which is brutal, once I eventually had my appointment, the “doctor” (I’m not sure he was really a physician) examined my skin issue for 10 seconds. Not kidding. 10 seconds at most! While there, I just asked about another skin irritation. He declined to even look at it, as only one examination at a time. After a 30 second visit, I was shuffled off for a biopsy. A follow up phone appointment was scheduled 3 weeks later for the results. There wasn’t a exact time, but a 3 hour window. No follow-up call at all! I tried calling the clinic, but the call kept dropping. Seriously, a clinic that doesn’t have the ability to handle calls? Hopefully, I don’t have a serious medical issue, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever know…Side note: I’m curious how much this visit cost the health care system.Avoid this clinic at all cost!

After reading all of the negative reviews, I decided to wait to write a review after visiting the clinic twice to make sure I had a full experience. I was super worried about what kind of experience I would have and was prepared for the worst, but really only had the very best experiences here to date!I used the Rapid Access Clinic for a very straightforward case as I knew what I needed for treatment. I arrived at 5:30 on one of the -26 windchill mornings and began lining up at 6 when somebody else started the line. They let us in early and started registering us at 6:45 and let the first 10 people wait inside. I was placed into my room at 7:55 and the doctor saw me right at 8am. I explained to the doctor what I needed and after a quick examination, gave me the injections I needed and I was out the door by 8:15. If you’re able it’s definitely worth it to get there early.I had a follow up 6 weeks later and I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment. I was seated in my examination room right away and the doctor saw me right on time. We went through the same exam and treatment and I was out of there in 10 minutes.I believe if you have a straightforward case, are patient and courteous, you can have a fantastic experience. It’s no fun having to wait early but the pain of wasting a couple hours in line beats waiting for months for an appointment. The clinic is clean, the staff are pleasant, polite and patient and the doctor was kind. Not sure what more anyone could ask for.Overall I am super happy that the RAC even exists and am extremely thankful that it’s an option!

Lined up at 5.50am with two more in front of me in line. By the time it was 7am the line was back to the corner of the building. Get there early to ensure you don’t have a long wait. The registration process was easy and the staff were great. The reason for my 2 star review is that the Dr. saw me for less than two minutes. Didn’t examine the area that I had issues with and felt there was nothing he could do, despite no examination of the area. He was abrupt and as a patient I would have expected better care, he consistently typed and didn’t seem to listen as I talked. It was a frustrating experience.

As far as walk-in clinics go, their Rapid-Access option is great. I had been multiple times pre-pandemic and it was tricky, but going this week I saw how much they’ve improved efficiency wise. I was in and out by 8:30am after arriving at 7.

The rapid access clinic was everything I hoped it would be. Before coming in, I was prepared to wait several hours based on previous reviews and the fact that this was a walk-in service. I arrived at 6:15am and only had one person in front of me. The front desk staff were incredibly efficient and kind to me. I waited just under two hours in total before being seen by Dr Kim, who was also very quick and professional. He even scheduled a follow-up over the phone to check in with me. The place itself was clean, cozy, and quiet. Thank you for the high-quality experience!

I got to the clinic for the walk-in service at 6:40 on a Thursday and was first in line. Around 7:10 (18 people in line), they started letting people in to register for an appointment. I was able to wait inside for my appointment, which was scheduled for 8. The doctor saw me promptly at my appointment time and diagnosed my condition. Going in, I was nervous because of the negative reviews, but overall, I had a good experience. The staff were kind and the doctor very helpful. My only regret was not coming to see them earlier. My family doctor misdiagnosed my condition, so I was taking the wrong medication for a week. I'm so glad I asked for a referal to see a specialist. When I left the clinic at 8:15, there was still a very long line outside, so I suggest getting there at around 7. I also overheard someone being rejected because they had previously already seen a dermatologist and was asked why they didn't follow up with them instead. If you have already seen a dermatologist, I would call ahead to ask if they'll see you.

The booking system for this facility makes no sense. No wonder they have signs all over the place to be kind to their employees. It's first come first served and very hard to coordinate a time between 8-11am and drive all the way down to find out they are at capacity. They should set up a voicemail or online notice to say they are at capacity rather then wasting our time. It's very difficult to get time off work to meet this establishments unfriendly commitment to their customer. I have no choice, I will have to try again and again. I feel sorry for the staff.

Went into the rapid clinic as when I called the voicemail mentioned that it was a 2-3 month wait for an appointment. I read all the reviews and arrived at 6:15am, there was 3 people ahead of me. As time passed the line grew longer. The staff does come out at around 7 to post a board to mention how many people they are able to see at the clinic for the day. They opened up the doors at 7:15am. Note that they will ask for your referral papers so make sure to have them. I filled out all the forms and was seated for about 10 min before they moved me into another holding area. I was there about another 10 min before I was moved into a patient waiting room. 15 minutes later Dr. Singh came in and we had our consultation. I found him to be great! Kind and friendly. He suggested that I have a biopsy for my diagnosis where I was sent to another waiting area, he mentioned that he would also like another colleague to get a second opinion on my condition. That took about another 10 minutes. After that my biopsy was done quickly and effectively and then was sent to schedule my follow up appointment. All in all it took about 45 minutes for everything and couldn’t be happier with the staff and Dr. Everyone was friendly, kind and helpful and on top of things. Suggestion is if you are going to go to the RAC, get there early as when I left there we’re about 50+ people waiting. Thanks Avant Derm team!

Very bad service. No one ever answers the phone doesn’t matter how many times you call and even if you’re in queue position 1 no one answers. You’re lucky if you can speak to your doctor for 30 seconds once a month. I’ve never had such a bad experience with any clinic. Crazy to think we pay for services like this. Only promising part about them is the rapid access clinic.

Frankly no point of going there at all, I won't waste my time again there, a 5 minute google search will likely give you more inform. The doctor we saw was extremely rude and condescending, you don't have time to ask any questions, he doesn't listen and doesn't even try to figure out what your problem is, it's all rushed and the answer is I don't know what it is, just try this treatment it's over the counter anyway. They give you a print out that the doctor will perform a thorough head to toe examination in good lighting for this condition and what happened in reality, the doctor looked for 10 seconds (no exageration here) in couple of spots. Why raise expectations with the print out???? It's totally not worth waiting 3 hours in line even if it sounds good to see a doctor the same day. I don't know who even writes good reviews for this place, somebody with vested interest, lol?It is really really bad, not professional and inadequate and the fact that it's for emergency issues is not an excuse!! Hospitals are also under a lot of stress, yet they provide quality service. In this clinic, I spent 2 minutes with the doctor who didn't even pretend trying to understand what the problem is. I was spoken down to like in no other service i have ever received. Disgusting! This doctor should not practice this profession if he hates working with people! No excuse, really disgusting service! The only thing thorough in this clinic is the covid questionnaire, that one is in fact much more thorough than I have ever seen anywhere else. They really should stop the same day service because they can misdiagnose cases simply because it's so rushed! Or work on other solutions, like an electronic line or registering online or by phone or something to properly treat people!
