Y Employment Access Centre

It’s waste of time. I had my language assessment done last year for french. I didn’t know french at all. So level 1 or beginners. I went today to enroll in class which is starting in last week ok September. She asked me to do assessment again & gave me Appointment sometime in October. How the hack i am going to go the classes or even if still get enrolled will miss almost a month. Waste of people’s time & government’s money.

I went there for French Language assessment. Although the assessor was nice and smiley, however other employees were not friendly and the communication quality was low. They don’t send you any written communication of what documents are needed, just a quick phone call to remind you with your appointment.I think PQ on Carling road is much better.

I waited for more than one hour to meet the assessor for booking a LINC course. They have very few people, so I cannot understand what employees are really doing!!! I am not sure if they enjoy wasting people’s time like this.

Wonderful staff and excellent employment services. I'm a former staff member and I had a great experience working at YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region.

Such a wast time ! Employees job to just bring people in and out and give them tones of paper at the end no jobs. Their jobs to keep themselves busy to keep their positions occupied.People make their own living on the other people who are less fortunate very sad.

I went to the youth centre one year ago for help finding a job I was 15 looking for a job and nobody helped me girl did half of my resume and said mine wasn't good enough & never contacted subway to help me with the job I reached out to subway myself and gave in my resume I made myself. I later found a job that I actually wanted when YMCA was limiting me to subway and mcdonalds when really there are more jobs then just that to get at this age. I handed in my boring not good black and white resume and got hired. Keep looking and you will find something use your resources on the internet like facebook, Kijiji, Linkedin. Whoever works the youth centre please try more to help out the people that come in looking for a job because I felt really discouraged from my experience there.

useless. I sent my husband there to look for assistance with becoming an HVAC tech. They claimed they could help him but when it didnt work out with the employer that HE brought on, they completely stopped messaging him. Garbage. Dont bother with them.

Very sophisticated, helpful and kind staff, Anna has been really helpful with guidance and support regarding finding a job, I got a job when dalia was the employment counsellor at this location.

very bad communication, no one actually helps you find a job and they simply don't care at all! I tried two counselors to help me find a job after my graduation and its been around 5 months since I have been there.. I got zero emails from them and they barely reply to my emails. my advice is don't waste your time at all just try another employment center.....

Personally, I have positive experience with this center. Scheduled assessment for my wife who study English herself for a wild without any tutor. She got high score of assessment and got enrolled in class with advanced level of the language. Everything within one week after scheduled appointment. I rate is as good service.
