Avenue Road Arts School

Friendly and knowledgeable instructors, always smiling. My daughter always brought home creative drawings and clay figures and she really enjoyed her drawing class. I think it's because they used a lot of techniques and she learned a lot. She was so proud when she shared her drawings with her regular class. There is parking behind the school but I always parked on Balmoral Ave because it's easier to get out. There are also summer camps and adult classes. I highly recommend this school.

I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have registered three kids over the last three years - for in person and online classes. Their online classes are as well organized, engaging and interesting for the kids as were their in person classes. The teachers are super, the communication to parents is clear and helpful and my kids loved each art class they took at Avenue Road Art School. I signed both of my kids, Art Masterpieces(kindergarten) and Water-colour Painting (Grade 5). They LOVED it! My 5 year-old girl would sit 30 min before the class, and 30 min after the class, just enjoying making her own art! Monday becomes her favorite day of the week!

Our son has attended several courses at Avenue Road Arts School since we moved to Toronto from New York City. In NYC, we were spoiled with access to top-notch arts programs. We were curious to see what Toronto might offer, and Avenue Road Arts School has exceeded our expectations in every way. The content of each course is both easy for students to grasp while pushing them to new heights in their artistic abilities. I've been astounded by what our son has had to show – the productivity, joy and projects that have grown out of his time at this wonderful school. I can't recommend them highly enough, for children and adults of all ages!

I've thoroughly enjoyed every art course I've participated in at ARAS over the past 5 years. The instructors have welcomed and supported our artistic development. Additionally, they facilitated a friendly environment that created numerous supportive groups of adult artists. If you are a beginner, intermediate or even an advanced artist and want to develop further, I highly recommend looking at any of their course offerings and talented instructors.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Avenue Road Arts School. Our 10-yr-old son doesn't easily maintain extracurricular commitments – but the classes he's taken here, even virtually, have totally held his interest. He's always brimming over with excitement and inspiration when class finishes. My husband and I can see how the programs are not only building his skills, but his confidence too. What a gift to have access to this level of instruction and care during these pandemic times.

I took my first Drawing Class at The Avenue Road Art School when I was 14 Years old as a Scholarship Student. My Time at ARAS remains some of my most cherished memories. I took classes at ARAS from the age of 14 until I was 22. I studied Drawing, Painting, Illustration, Cartooning and even Photography. The ARAS is more than an 'art school' – it is a home. With Genuine support from excellent teachers I was able to explore and expand my artistic dreams.
