Black Sheep Camp Kootenay River

This place is a hidden gem. Amazing experience, amazing location, amazing price. There is a good coffee shop a five minute walk or a one minute drive away. The river is right there. There is natural Hot Springs cliff jumping and other swimming all within a 20 minute drive. If you don’t stay here when you’re coming through you are dumb. Bike friendly, family-friendly, tenting and trailer camping. Showers and wash room is available, three, and super clean. The host is super easy to deal with and really hospitable. Everything you need.

Very friendly owners, super clean showers and bathrooms. Nice walk along the rivers. Trees on the premises need to grow a bit more as privacy is not great. Parking spots are new and very nice level with all amenities. Recommended.

We tented here, the price is great, the owner is super friendly and helpful. Showers are clean and hot. Wifi if you need and it’s super close to Lussier Hot Springs.Would highly recommend.

Amazing campground, couldn't have been happier.Amazingly clean bathrooms, literally cleaner than my bathroom at home.Lots of free hot showers.Staff was friendly and helpful.Ride your atv from the campground to endless trails or forrrestry roads.(Idle through camp)Fish and boat from many breathtaking lakes in the area, Columbia lake park has a launch just 5 minute drive from the camp.Honestly can't think of anything negative to say.Would recommend 100% and will back asap lol

Definitely not presented the way the website depicts of the campground. Kelly is super friendly but seems to be disorganized. In his defence, he runs the whole campground, cafe and store with his wife, Kate - maybe it is time to hire more staff. When we booked, there was no confirmation sent out, it was often hard to get a hold of him via text, phone or email. The campground for the RV section is very run down and the sites are very close together. The tent sites are nice with lots of trees and greenery to offer privacy. It is a close walk to the river, there are laundry and shower facilities on site. There is a playground" (hardly) that features a very old swing set and a slide for toddlers. The campground has many friendly patrons that are very welcoming."

This is by far the best campground I’ve ever stayed at. The lots are kept clean and the noise levels are quiet at night. It’s a great campground for families or if you just need a quiet getaway. I went for a week with my wife and absolutely loved our stay. Kelly and Kate are the most amazing hosts you could ask for at a campground. Their attentive, helpful, and very nice people. I would recommend staying here 100%. The area is also absolutely stunning.

Amazing place to camp! Huge property & extremely private sites. Kelly the owner is a super nice dude and i couldn't recommend staying anywhere besides the The Flats RV & Campground if you're in the area!
