Guelph Food Bank

Amazing organization that does wonderful work! As a workplace,Bisson Dentistry, spent a day volunteering and it was amazing to see all the work they do for our community! In a year of such need it was comforting to see people are still helping and giving ! One of my favourite organizations to support!

Edited Review!So the employees are nice, great customer service and friendly door greetersHow ever the only is the food on the shelf should be monitored as most of the food I’ve received myself is indeed past the expiration date and has to be tossed into the trash because it’s not safe to eat.We made hot dogs that we got from the food bank that were frozen and they smelled really bad. So we checked the other meat we got (chicken) and it was terribly gross. Smelled like rotten meat and had some bad discolouration which if eaten could’ve put someone in the hospital.So please please have someone check the expiration dates before someone gets foodpoisoning (hopefully nothing worse)

If you are struggling to get groceries then this place is the best solution. The food given from here is enough for 1 month.

Wonderful organization, friendly staff that are always kind and welcoming, even to those late comers sliding in one min or less before close. The amount and variety of items they provide I find to be substantial, and put thought into the new box system where if they give you a boxed cake mix they give icing too. With the increasing price of groceries including everyday essentials such as milk, bread, eggs and basically everything else, having, the ability to to utilize a service that helps keep food on the table and allowing the opportunity for people to have a little extra money so we can send our kid to a birthday party or a special for getting a good mark. Very thoughtful and dedicated workers and staff. Before covid it was a bit hectic waiting in line but you can't complain since it's free. Ever since covid however they've managed to adapt a new alternate (I'm not sure how it is since 2023) method with pre packaged. You'd go in, give your ticket, they'd guide you through the hallway and everything is done quick and easy.These workers are very friendly they will help you with any questions or assistance.

I am performing a monthly donation to the food bank as I believe it is the right thing to do, as we do not know who has a tough time in life and needs our help.

Always expiry date and only take adequate things you need.
