The accountant that we dealt with retired a number of years ago. I was not impressed with Mr Smithers. He dismissed me when I told him about a concern that I had with the previous year’s corporate return, and he assured me that the figure he told me to pay was sufficient to cover my total tax bill. It wasn’t. As a result, I had demands for payment from the CRA pile up in my in-basket despite his having access to my CRA account, which he obviously never monitored. All-in-all, not much about his services was satisfactory.

Larry Smithers and his group have done a brilliant job for my wife and me over the last decade or more. I enlisted Larry to do my taxes because I had income from both Canada and the UK, and didn't need to be paying our government or her Majesty any more than necessary. As I moved from employee to contract work to pensioner, Larry made the necessary adjustments to our tax returns and always provided sound advice. When we were once audited, Larry handled it in a way that was stress free for us. We now live in BC but still deal with Larry Smithers for our taxes. Thanks Larry.
