Seikido Dojo

Seikido is an amazing martial art school. My daughter, 9 years old joined it this summer and enjoys her classes, even asked to add more days. I highly recommend training here. Very positive, welcoming and uplifting atmosphere.

Our daughter is 5 and has been at Seikido for 8 months. We have noticed a huge difference in her confidence and self-esteem; she is able to stand up for herself and believe in herself more. It's so amazing seeing the kids help each other and look out for one another; shows that being part of a team and being a team player is very important in the Dojo. We are very happy with Seikido and are grateful our daughter was presented the opportunity to be a part of the team.

My son joined Seikido a few months ago and really enjoys his time there. The older kids who help him during class are a true reflection of the teaching in the dojo. They are kind, courteous and respectful. Seikido is a family run business that emphasizes building relationships with the students. We feel very lucky to be a part of Seikido and hope to continue for many years to come!

My son has practiced martial arts at Seikido Dojo for five years including two years of online practice during the pandemic. It’s hard for him to say farewell to Seikido since he will attend St. George’s junior school this September, and our family will be moving to Vancouver. Thank you Sensei Wayne so much for writing my son's reference letter, which was an important part of the admission. My son had a pleasant and memorable experience in this unique community. He learned martial arts, respect, responsibility, resilience, and friendship. He remembered all the hard work practice, excellent Grading performances, exciting Halloween parties and happy summer camps. Every Seikido student is taught, loved and cared for individually by Sensei and his team. They know every single student very well. According to the Peace Arch News, Seikido Dojo truly deserves the honour of being first place as “Best Martial Arts” in the Peninsula for seven consecutive years. Been doing Seikido for only a month so far. All I can say is, I love it here! It was exactly the type of teaching and discipline I needed to succeed internally with myself in order to be the best version of the person I’ve wanted to become and the best version of myself for those around me. Sensei Wayne takes the time to show you proper technique, in a fast paced environment. Although my journey has only started at Seikido, This may be one of those most important decisions of my life and I can’t wait to continue improving myself through Sensei Wayne’s teachings.

My son has been with Seikido for 1.5 years! All the staff are kind and helpful! The Sensei teaches the kids not only martial art, techniques to protect themselves, but also a proactive attitude to do things well. The kids are proud of themselves when they arrive the dojo on time decently. It might not be an issue in a short term, but will definitely play an important role to help them achieve a successful life in the future! My son is proud of any achievements with Seikido and will keep on the path even when he has to leave the Seikido family in the future!

My children love Seikido and the team of instructors. We started 3.5 years ago with the last 2 years continued on line. My children are back in the dojo and can’t stop talking about it. The atmosphere is very welcoming zen and non intimidating for anyone looking to start martial arts. We are privileged to have Seikido in our community!

Our child first joined Seikido on 2020 and had online class for 1.5 years. Then we temporarily stopped the lesson until this September. There is no doubt to choose Seikido again as we always trust Sensei Wayne who is very knowledgeable and caring. It feels like we never left! Seikido is like a big family for my 7.5 years child to join back. He learns not only the techniques but also respect and discipline. We are so grateful to have our son’s growth within dojo. We enrolled our child and he loves to attend the teen classes twice a week. It is his first choices for activities, everything else comes second to attending Seikido. He is so excited to go to every class. We are so very fortunate to have Sensei Wayne and his team welcome our child every week.

Awesome experience so far. My son is actually excited to go - every time. Very professional and the kids maintain such a respectful and inclusive environment for one another under the guidance of sensei. Refreshing to see so many young people of all ages smiling as they go in and out.
