First off this isn't a review of the food. The food was a 3.5 stars. Everything served was good. Standard diner fare. The issue was with the waitress who was very awkward & unfriendly... ironic. When we first walked in we were not greeted and sat ourselves. She came over to take our drink orders. My mother asked for honey with her tea. The waitress let out an audible sigh as if my mother's request burdened her. She came back to the table with the drinks. She stared off into oblivion saying nothing. We stared right back at her... very awkward. I placed my order to break the silence. My wife and I were turned off a bit at this point but we were very hungry. At this time she was taking other people's orders & seemed a bit more friendly with them. Locals perhaps. Favoritism... I'd say so. We ate our meals as soon as possible. We did not feel welcome in this establishment. On our way out I said thanks have a great day". The waitress walked by me like an automaton drone & did not say a word. Do yourself a favor & go to the Boot & Blade restaurant. The service is much better there. We will not be returning to the Estranged Friends & Family Restaurant. Extremely dissatisfied."

This is coming from a person of colorOur experience was horrible we were hoping for something good to come from a local restaurant. When we walked in we were confused because we weren’t seated and when we asked the women working there she said you can sit anywhere but when we tried to seat down at a table she said you can’t sit there. So finally when we sat down we weren’t even given a menu and when she came over she kicked us out because we had Tim Hortons like what the flip is wrong with them. But it’s whatever because we walked down to osmows where we were treated fairly

If you’re a person of color, you’re best to avoid this place and either starve or find a different place to eat. The waitress made sure to make us feel unwelcomed and make us feel like a burden for asking if we need to be seated. After seating us at a dirty table with dishes from previous patrons the waitress did not give us a menu. She then asked us to leave our water bottle outside. After asking for a garbage to dispose of the bottle, she told us to throw it out wherever we brought it from.Every table in that restaurant proceeded to look at us uncomfortably after which we decided to leave. Heard a lot about small Canadian towns being the most welcoming and loving, but that definitely was not the case here. Very unfortunate and heartbreaking to experience such hate for simply wanting to have a meal.Thank you for your kind hospitality.

First time eating here today, and I can confidently say it will be the last. When walking in, we weren’t sure if we were to wait to be seated or just take a seat. The waitress stood there in silence staring at us instead of giving us a heads up. After we took a seat she immediately came over to take our order. I guess you’re only offered 30 seconds to look at the menu to figure out what you want. (Even after telling her it was our first time here). I was still talking and giving her my order when she walked away from me in mid sentence. She treated us as if we were a burden and unwelcome.Not once did she ask how the food was, or anything any other waitress on the planet does. I cannot believe she still has a job with the way she treats people. I will not return and I will make sure I spread the word of my horrible experience here. Incase anyone who works there is reading this the food was alright.

Best battered fish in town. Some might consider coleslaw decoration, yet Friends and Family make the best around. Country music in the background of what is a great place for friends and family to gather, chat about health, wealth and abundance over delectable home cooked cuisine.

To begin with…Picture above with the red seats…is an old picture. It doesnt look like that at all.Yesterday, was our first time eating there.The place looked like a 1980’s family basement. Which made me giggle to see…(The decorations is way too much filled of fake urns (candle holders in form and look of urns…))-*The lady that served was a little busy sitting with papers she was filling, packages were standing near the door and the place is so filled of old decorations and fake urns that we had to be careful not to make any of them falling…If you are two it is fine but if you are 4 try not to move too much near the window…As decos takes over.-*The tables are sooo near from each other that we had to look behind us to make sure not to back off into our back table neighbor…-* The breakfast we took was good excepted my scrambled eggs were a little robbery as too cooked but still edible) but the coffee…I am sorry but i wont lie to any of you…The coffee was UNDRINKABLE…It had No coffee taste…It was a coffee that tasted like old tea with way too much water with the color of instant coffee…The service was good, the food was good, the prices were affordable and the place was clean.But if you stop for a morning coffee…It is not « Skadi Crowe Approved »

Nice local place. Had the breakfast special and it was good. Regular prices and lots of parking.Fyi they charge for a coffee to go
