One of those Winnipeg Winter festival to be at.As much as they are rooted in tradition I wish they take their festival to the adjacent part of the river and in their space and have more modern things like skateboarding park + winter sports around the area they have to make it more interesting.

Hé!Ho! Félicitations au comité organisateur du Festival du Voyageur virtual, 2021. Congratulations to the organizing committee of this year's virtual Festival du Voyageur. My wife and I enjoyed three virtual concerts, pre-recorded and broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. We enjoyed having franco-manitobain, Indigenous and other local and Canadian artists brought right into our family room. I have difficulty with the cold and with slippery places, so I was thrilled to be able to be part of this celebration. The annual Beard Growing, Jigging and Fiddle competitions were held virtually. We especially enjoyed the program of Indigenous Artists from all across Canada.

I went with my son's grade 3 class from Donwood. Very well organized, lots of fascinating things to see and do. The hoop dancing in particular was amazing!

This Festival is a victim to its own success. Do NOT go on a weekend as our annual group of 10 did last last. We've learned to arrive early, so got there at 7 p.m. to get into the Sugar Shack with no line up. After watching the Yves Lambert Trio our group wanted to move on to another tent to see the Tom Petty tribute. We asked the door security if one of us could leave the tent to go see if there was a line up at the Snow Tent because we didn't want to leave the Sugar Shack if there was a line up. The security would not let us go check, so we took the chance and left the Sugar Shack; BIG mistake! There was about 100 people in line to get into the Snow Tent, and the line did not move for 10 minutes. We decided to pack it in and call it a night. $25 each x 10 people for the two hours inside the Sugar Shack to see one band! Terrible experience for everyone and it would be hard to convince anyone to do this again next year. Continued success to the event but we won't be standing in line again next year, that's for sure!

We had such a lovely day at the Festival this Monday. The lines were short. We enjoyed some yummy treats. The kids loved the slides through the snow sculptures. The climb up sculptures were a big hit. There is nothing like maple taffy on a stick to round out a good way to spend a winter day in Manitoba.

Used to really enjoy this great mid-winter music festival until if they started to oversell tickets and have to wait in line for an hour to get into every tent in the evenings. Your ticket price essentially gets you into the park to wait in line-ups. The actual music and service is all fantastic if you can ever get into see anything.

Great experience. Found it very informative. Had a lot of fun eating delicious food in the snow. The ice sculptors were lovely. I would recommend.

Overall its the most iconic festival in Manitoba, however be prepared to wait in lines (Friday-Saturday nights) upwards of 1 hour in the cold. The ticket prices have also increased almost 100% with no real big changes. Don't get me wrong this is a must see, but I recommend a little preparation prior to heading out!
