Really cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. This place does not have a license to serve alcohol, which was a little disappointing. Coffee was ok. Something activated my allergies 5 minutes after arriving. Not sure what it was, but I wanted to claw my eyes out.

Kitchen 1409 is one of my favourite breakfast places on the entirety of Cape Breton Island. Friendly staff, a cozy environment, and absolutely delicious food. On top of all that, the portions are humongous! My personal recommendation is the Big Bras d'Or Breakfast - you'll love it!

The garlic steamed mussels were amazing, fish and chips were done flawlessly, staff is wonderful and pleasant and the small cozy atmosphere of the restaurant made it all the better. Great stop for seafood lovers but plenty of options for everyone else as well

I like the seafood platters and the seafood chowder. The restaurant staff was so nice to split the meal into two plates for two of us to share.

We stayed across the street for 3 days and ate dinner here twice, everything is delicious! The wings, haddock bites with frites and seafood chowder are all amazing! We all really loved the seafood chowder, it is rich and delicious and you can get it in 2 sizes, cup or bowl - both served with the best biscuit in the world!!! For those who don't crave sea bugs - the chicken wings are also great, they make their own hot sauce and it's hot but still has a good flavour. They close early (7pm) so plan to be here before 5:30pm.Reasonably priced especially when compared to other places on the island. The staff here is lovely as well, friendly and kind. Worth a stop in.

Always a great experience dining here. Friendly, welcoming service, cozy atmosphere, and amazing food. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo is a must try as well as the spicy Thai nachos. Great portion sizes as well. I always leave happy and full. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in and trying it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.

One of my favourite stops in Cape Breton! Enjoyed a hearty, delicious breakfast. Asked for extra bacon and wished I hadn't!! Had NO idea the meal would come with SO much bacon. Even getting all that extra bacon, the meal came in at a great price.Staff were friendly and courteous. Loved the girl that served us, she had a classic Cape Breton accent and was incredibly friendly.
