88Keys Music and Discovery Centre

I chose 88 Keys due to the unique Yamaha group piano program. Coming from a strict RCM background, I was sceptical about a group approach, but wanted piano to be fun and not a chore. Now that I have been attending with my child for 1.5 years, I am truly impressed with the program and results! My child has learned so much and is so enthusiastic about practicing every week. Excellent and very rich foundational program for music - thank you!

My daughter and her best friend enrolled this Sept 2021 for piano (Yamaha Young Musicians). We got a referral from another friend and we love it so far! The teachers are great and the program is fantastic. The Yamaha music program is perfect for my daughter as it's fun with sing-a-long music, which she loves to do. I was looking for something that would encourage and develop the love of music without the strict/stern old style of teaching. I see vast improvement each week and my daughter already learned to read the music! The best part is that I am learning along with her! I've always wanted to learn to play piano and I am! The covid19 protocol is followed and they even offer online learning simultaneously. So far, we are very happy with the school, class, and the teacher Ms. Chanel!!!

My child has been attending group piano lessons at 88 Keys for two years and each week I continue to be amazed at how much we’re learning. The teachers are so patient and warm and their love of music is contagious to the kids and parents who attend the classes. The classes are engaging and captures the children’s interest in learning piano (including solfege singing, music theory, sight reading and even song composition)! My child happily practices piano daily because the songs and lessons are so much fun. 88Keys is truly a gem and they have set a high bar for how music should be taught!

Me as a parent and my daughter as the student at 88keys always recommend this place to our friends. Not only because Yamaha music education is a fun and structured system to young learners, but also this school is taking such a good care of it's operations . I was very impressed with them being able to adapt to the various new class models SO quicky during the pandemic. This is a place where everyone, from the owner, to the teachers, are so committed to their work with a genuine love on music education to young learners.

I highly recommend 88Keys. My daughter has been attending piano classes there for the past four years and she has learned so much! They offer exceptional group classes and the children learn to play both solo pieces and as part of a group. My daughter has learned amazing hand coordination and her confidence in playing has also improved as the children are encouraged to be creative with their music. Her teacher, Ms. Alondra, takes time to encourage each child and give immediate feedback as they play. My daughter's confidence in playing has been boosted tremendously because of her. As a school, I am also impressed at how fast classes went online during this very challenging time during the pandemic. They have always been implementing safety for the in-person classes and have always had the online option available for the live classes. Thank you to 88Keys!

This is my daughter's 5th year at the school. Her musical adventure has been nothing but wonderful. She has had a few teachers and all of them are very caring and really get to know my daughter. I specifically appreciate the outside piano experience like: outdoor performance on Canada Day; my daughter's composition was used by other composer and performed at the Richmond Hill Performing Art Center, etc. The school is also very supportive to tailor the musical lessons to the need of my daughter. All in all, this is a very good school with the heart to help children to develop the passion of music.

88 Keys is an exceptionally well run studio with excellent staff and qualified instructors who can easily adapt to a student’s learning style. As an adult learner with no musical background, I have been able to progress in my quest to learn piano at my own pace in a supportive and nurturing environment for the last three+ years. The studio pivoted quickly to online lessons at the start of the pandemic and has implemented safety measures making it possible for students to safely continue their lessons online or in-person. If you are a parent or an adult learner seeking lessons for your child or yourself, I would strongly recommend 88 Keys Music School.

I have been sending my daughter to 88 keys for the JMC group piano classes since 2019. My daughter loves the classes and her teachers and I am happy she has gained a love of music. I am also very happy with her progress in playing the piano, she is able to play with both hands. The class is taught in Yamaha style and allows parents to sit in during the younger years, which is great because I can support her learning at home as well. Yana is also very responsive and tries her best to help make accommodations if needed. During COVID times, there have been some adjustments in part in person and part virtual classes, and both have been done safely and effectively. Would recommend this class for learning about music and piano!

I don't write reviews but I feel the need to spread the word to parents looking for affordable, fun and exceptional piano music class to introduce to their children. The teachers and staff are wonderful and are dedicated to students learning. Our kids have been coming here since our kids were 4 and 5 years old and they still loving coming year after year!
