The food wasn't that great, 3 stars at best. I had never seen a wonton soup with dark broth and ham before. The 3 delights dish I ordered had a very strong bamboo shot taste I didn't like. The hot and sour soup just tasted only of black pepper. The Mongolian beef and the egg rolls were good.The lady that served us was very nice and did a great job and the restaurant was clean so they get and extra star for that.

Absolutely amazing food and the best service around!!!! If you walk away hungry, it's your own fault!! Hot and Sour soup is the best we've had!! Ask for some plum sauce for the crab angles and egg rolls!!! Cynthia and her crew are AWESOME!!!!

We put off trying Chinese in Rapid City because of the bad reviews. But finally in the area and it was lunch and we were hungry. Walked in the restaurant was very nice and full of people! So I was excited and it's been so long since having some good Chinese. Fried rice is bland. Mongolian beef small portion over sweet and bad quality meat. Orange chicken in dark sauce and not good flavor, no orange zest or any quality ingredients. The egg rolls a bad flavor. Even the Cheese Rangoon were stale and hard. How this restaurant is full don't understand. Super disappointing.

The food and service was good and fairly cheap. For $14 each my boyfriend and I got the combination dinner, which includes your choice of soup, an egg roll, fried rice, a crab angel, and your choice of 16 different entrees. The food was hot and seemed fresh. My vegetables in my sweet and sour chicken were not cooked however. The crab angel was decent but a bit chewy and more cheddar tasting. The service was fairly good but it took forever to get the check and boxes. They also charged around $4 for a soda. Overall, pretty good for your money but nothing to write home about.

Love this place. Fun fact, my family used to own this place prior it being what it is now, 'Golden Phoenix.' Same quality food. Great food with great service. Glad that the restaurant now hold the same standards as we had when we own the restaurant (different name). Would come again when I am in town. It is a must go when you are in the area. A++

This place must be under different management. Going over 30 years won’t be back. Tried to go twice while back in the area. First time 720 PM I walked in and the host walked up to me talking with his mouth full of food, wearing street clothes, and told me the kitchen was cleaning and they would not be serving anymore food. The next time I showed up 640 PM the same guy told me they had no tables because they were too busy. From what I could tell they had open tables and the parking lot was not very full compared to how it would have been in the past. He also told me I could not wait for a table. I told him I wouldn’t be back. Too bad was once one of the best places to eat in town.

Amazing experience we're from Orlando Florida Where you can get Chinese food Is anywhere you want. was trying to find the perfect spot for my wife to me for some authentic Chinese food and my God Golden Phoenix thank God you are there. My wife is Originally from China and she says it's exactly like you're back home in China. You will never go hungry on how Much food you get with such a low price. A lot of the food there should've been priced at $20 or little bit more but I love that's so much can't wait to go back and have some more. I know our 1st stop when we come back to rapid we'll be the golden Phoenix.

Ordered fried wontons and they were crunchier than the fortune cookie and there was literally nothing inside. I took many pics. Cant believe we cracked every one open and nothing inside! Then the almond chicken was all onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts and maybe 8 pieces of chicken. So disappointed.

First let me say that we almost always pick restaurants based on Google reviews and generally, we come close to agreeing with the average review. This was the exception to that premise. We stopped there yesterday and were told we could not dine in because the “cook is behind” and they were doing take out only. Not sure how that justifies the cook being behind. Cook is cooking the same food whether it is dine in or take out.Being really in the mood for Chinese, we called ahead and were told that we could dine in up to 3pm today.Upon arriving, we were not asked a preference of a booth or table, but lead to a table. My husband has severe back issues and hard chairs are uncomfortable for him. So we asked if we could change to a booth. The young man was muttering something about why we needed to sit at the table. Just before we were turning to walk out, he rather curtly tossed menus on an adjacent booth and left.Our server came, very polite and helpful. We ordered Mongolian Beef and General Chicken. Both were served with soup, egg roll, crab angle and fried rice. The hot and sour soup as well as the egg drop soup were served hot and tasted fairly good.The rest of the meals were not good. My chicken was simply stringy and overcooked. It was just not good. The egg rolls were soggy. The Mongolian beef was ok but not great.Not a place I would return to.

Delicious food! Did take out and are at a nearby park. Seemed like a cool authentic place inside.
