Modernscapes Landscaping

Modernscapes were hired by the developer of our townhome complex to lay new sod and install sprinkler systems on our property. The base was not prepared properly before laying the sod. There was a lack of topsoil and as a result much of the sod died and we ended up replacing its , repairing sections of the yard and regrading the land. The sprinkler systems were insufficient coverage for our property and after one season we had to relocate and replace sprinkler heads. There was damage done to our fence and after several attempts to contact the owner it was never repaired. Their crew appears to be poorly trained and disrespectful. Their equipment and leftover debris has been left for weeks at a time blocking access to community mailbox. We find this company to be extremely unprofessional with shoddy workmanship.

After a timely quote and professional interaction with the owner, we decided to hire him to do a large commercial landscaping project in Kingsville, Ontario. The owner and his crew arrived as stated, they worked quick, and seemed to go above and beyond; I paid them in full within 24 hours, which was a mistake.After a couple weeks passed, it was clear that several shortcuts were made. Specifically, the landscape fabric was not brought to the concrete and curbing so I have wees growing around the perimeter of all the defined beds. Additionally, I have 4 planted cedars that have died and browned; part of the quote was a warranty on all plants and shrubs for 12 month.I contacted the owner and he indicated he would come out to fix after he completed the job he was working at that time. After a few weeks passed again, I followed up on several occasions and the owner never replied. At this point, I have to conclude that the work was rushed, not done correctly, and that the company is not intending to honor issued warranty. I would not recommend; expensive, unprofessional, and dishonest.

Colin and crew put in a sprinkler system. I had never had it done as I was afraid of the mess left behind. No mess!! Would never know that we even put one in...excellent job!!
