I’ve serviced my Volvo for the first time this week and have had a great experience altogether:- booking the appointment with a service manager was very easy and the system-generated email summary was helpful to plan the time in my calendar- the service manager was very courteous and thorough at the drop-off and pick-up, taking all the time needed to answer additional questions I had about the car (unrelated to the service)- the waiting area is confortable and well equipped (see photos).- the sales rep came to greet me and inquired at length about my experience with the XC90 moreover as I was new to the brand - I also had not felt ANY pressure during the sales process, and the rep had been very attentive to my needs.- the service was done on-time, on-spec, and on-budget.Altogether my experience has been nothing but excellent - kudos to everyone involved in the process!

Our experience with this dealership was very good during the sales phase, especially the young man who sold us the car. The problem arose with the after-sales service.Here’s the background. Volvo did a recall recently on their software on the XC60 (and I assume other models) where the 360 deg camera mode doesn’t go into the rear camera mode on reverse, as required by law. Their recall notice specifically mentioned that an accident can happen as a result of this fault. And that is exactly what happened to us prior to receiving the recall notice.It would be reasonable for Volvo to cover the repair on the minor damage, given that it took place as a result of a fault on their software. Volvo has refused to take ownership of the consequences, even though all other car makers do so on recalls that had led to an accident. The public domain is replete with examples.We then reached out to the dealership to help us in this matter, given that we did buy our car from them after all, and was told that the GM would contact us. After two weeks that still has not happened despite a couple of emails to the service director.A main reason for buying Volvo is their claim to safety, and therefore as customers we would expect that they would live up to their brand image at least. There are now many safe cars out there with similarly high safety ratings. While I don’t intend to buy another Volvo after our experience, the lack of communication and refusal of any help from this dealership has been very troubling.I would assume that other dealerships would do better.
