Miso, sushi and rolls were fine, but fish could be more fresh… but then sashimi arrived … and there was lemon between tuna and scallop sashimi which literally boiled them with its acid. I was lucky enough to notice it while having conversation with friends and immediately removed lemon. Coming from Tokyo I never experienced such bizarre way of serving sashimi…

All the staff were friendly, very warm and welcoming! It felt like i was in a cozy homeThe sashimi and sushi rolls were very fresh and reasonably priced with quick service (i ordered too much) a bit difficult to find parking but worth the walk. It's a great place for meetings or get togethers as it's not too loud and is quite comfortable. Will definitely go again :)

We're from out-of-town, so we scoured Reddit to try and find the best hidden gem sushi spot and it did not disappoint. Really simple mom-and-pop joint, with great service and it was cool watching the staff interact with and catching up with the local regulars. Their take on a dynamite roll was delicious, and the wild sockeye salmon was incredibly fresh. As we were walking away talking about how glad we were that we chose that spot, a server literally ran across the street to track us down because we had forgotten a bag there. It was an amazing gesture and we'll definitely return next time we're in town.

Went here on a Friday night and loved the service and the owners. We had the local Uni which was outstanding, had several orders of it actually. The gals taking care of us were wonderful, very very helpful with the menu as it was our first time in, we will definitely be back. The menu is diverse and their freshness is top-shelf. They could upgrade their Sake offerings which was the only negative I could think of.I rarely get five stars for a restaurant but this place is deserving of it.

My favourite sushi place in Vancouver. Super fresh fish and amazing quality, all at a cheaper price than bougier fancy places. Everyone I’ve brought to and introduced to Kaide have had it become one of their top 3 sushi places in Van

Staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is not too large but has something for everyone. Good options for imported drinks, and they have plenty of specials. The unagi don was delicious, as was the scallop maki.

Friendly service, good food, intimate setting. They put wasabi directly in the rice of the sushi roll and the nigiri, which is good for me but too spicy for hubby. Hubby also said everything tastes a bit too tangy for his liking. For example, the soy sauce was saltier than usual. He usually likes black cod, but the cod dish was probably pre-marinated in a soy sauce based sauce, and hubby couldn’t eat much of it. I also thought the soy sauce was a bit on the salty side. But I enjoyed the black cod very much.

Been coming here for years. Their sashimi is always fresh, with nice seasonal offerings. The sushi are made with fresh seasonal offerings as well. Beer is served with an ice chilled glass, which is nice. The owner and chef is very nice and friendly, as are the staff. It's not a high end place, but the quality of their food is comparable to more pricey places in town. Definitely worth a visit.

I had a delicious chef’s choice sushi dinner. The staff is super friendly and it was all delicious (especially the miso soup!). The kind of place where the patrons send post cards from their travels.
