Swell Tofino - Mackenzie Beach Location
Very highly recommend using Swell for surf lessons. We both had a ton of fun. My partner and I booked a private lesson with Jacob, (the redheaded Jacob). Even though it was a super windy day it was still a blast. Great teacher, his instructions were actually extremely helpful, and he was super nice. Equipment was all good, store front was clean, and the staff there was very nice. The other Jacob seemed super nice and helpful also!

My mom and I booked a group lesson with Swell a couple weeks ago and can't say enough for how great everyone was! From the crew in the shop that geared us up, to the 3 instructors (I'm sorry I'm terrible with names, but one was Jacob) from our lesson!I've surfed a handful of times but it was my mom's first time and the team was great with easing her nerves and helping her feel comfortable and safe in the surf, regardless of skill level.We've already raved to family and friends and will continue to recommend Swell to everyone, see you next time!

The best surf lesson I could have hoped for!Jacob covered the perfect dry land instruction and then got us in the water. He was able to help me as a total beginner, and get the other students going on harder waves. Looking around at the pace and group size of other classes , Swell gave us the biggest and best ocean time .

Had a blast learning to surf with Jacob despite the rain storm and large swells. He made it lots of fun and brought the energy up which was so key given the weather. He gave equal/individualized attention to our entire group of 5 and made sure we were safe as the day got stormier. Glad we went with this newer surf shop due to the instructor and also that their equipment was in amazing condition.

Swell was great! Our private lesson with Ali yesterday went awesome. For me (age 50 something) who haven't been on a board in 25+ years had some good helpful tips - I sure can't pop up like I used to! But for my four kids under 14 they all managed to stand by their third try. Little buggers finally out did their pop :0.. Equipment was clean and newer. All staff we encountered where in a happy chill place, while being clearly professional 'water babies' lol! Will be back. THANKS

Elbi was a great instructor for my two kids!Ella and Alex were also awesome for our friends who went with us at the same time.We will be back next year at use Swell Tofino again!

Great group of people. The lessons were great. They did a couple lessons with our 6 yr old and she was getting up and surfing the whole time. When she got tired they took her to the beach and played with her. Can't say enough good things.

We took the Meares Island tour with Terrell and Janessa. It was an amazing experience! We felt really connected to the land, the ocean, and to the stories of our guides.

Swell was great! We absolutely loved our experience. We loved Jacob & Jacob. They were both so friendly and super knowledgeable. Amazing service. It completely blew our expectations out of the water. We were completely new to the surfing and yet they helped us feel confident and comfortable!
