Burly Guys Junk Removal

Roger and the crew did a great job removing the deck 4x4 posts buried in cement. They removed 14 posts in under an hour and a half. They were on time and the cost was very reasonable. They also removed the debris from the 15' x 27' pool which was all over the yard and the wood from the deck that surrounded the pool.

The jobs that we hired the Burley Guys to do were big. A pool filled with water that had been left standing for years had to be removed, a michigan basement that had been paneled in the 60's needed clearing out and a huge barn filled with junk needed to be cleaned out. It was wet, cold, and very dirty work. The crew worked tirelessly with no complaints. In fact, most of the time they were cheerful. I am very impressed with this company and highly recommend them

John is very very professional, thorough, prompt, and reasonably priced. I not only would personally hire him again but I refer him to all my clients for their needs. BTW I'm a Realtor.

As a real estate agent I sometimes need to find contractors to help my sellers empty out homes so they can be sold. John and his crew at Burly Guys Junk Removal did an outstanding job cleaning out a clients home recently with 40+ years of accumulation. They were even able to tear up the old carpeting and remove it. Best of all John is one of those old-school guys who answers his phone when you call him, returns calls and texts almost immediately and wait for it… Wait for it… His guys showed up on time and got the job done ahead of schedule. You can’t ask for much more than that.

I had a ton of stuff in my garage I needed to get rid of so I decided to try this business out and I'm glad I went with them. They said they could be here at 9 am when I had called the day before and they got here a few minutes early ready to work. The whole process was very quick and painless. Even though I had a ton of stuff in my garage I had to sift through they were very patient with me and helped me out with it as well. The whole process took maybe a half hour at most.

I've worked with Burly Guys before to move to my previous apartment and had a positive experience, which is why I contracted with them again for my most recent move, but based on my last experience I will never use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.The scheduled time was between 9 and 10am, and I got a text at 9:20 saying one of the crew members called in sick. In the context of the conversation, it was brought to light that the notes only reflected 'moving things in my basement,' when I specifically told them I was moving to a new apartment (and gave the new address) and told them the contents of my apartment and what needed to be moved. At one point John told me I should seek other arrangements because he was having trouble locating someone, but my entire family was out of town, other moving companies were booked up and I needed to be out of my place that day. To be able to still get out of my apartment, I offered to help and find friends to supplement his crew.Long story short, they showed up 2 hours late without a proper truck so 2 trips with the trailer were needed, without tools needed to disassemble and reassemble my furniture items (even though I specifically mentioned that in my booking phone call and John said that was no problem, thank goodness I had some tools, though the crew member disassembling my bed lost some hardware in the process and my friend had to go out and buy more to safely re-attach my headboard), me and my friends had to do essentially all of the lifting/moving because his crew member couldn't do stairs

We had a very heavy, awkward, old, large-screen projection TV that had to be removed to make room for a large-screen 4K TV. This was holding up progress on our family room makeover, and it was time to bring our entertainment into the 21st Century! My husband and I tried to dismantle it, but the solid wood box was glued, stapled and screwed together for maximum strength, and now, maximum headache! I called John at Burly Guys after-hours from my home in Canton, and he arrived with a four-man team from Waterford the very next day. The enthusiastic Burly Guys crew went straight to work –moving the TV outdoors, demolishing it, and removing the pieces! Then they moved a large sofa (not part of the original bargain) out the back door, around the house, and in again, through the front door (the only way it would fit). We are very pleased with their work, and their prices, and would not hesitate to call on them again. We highly recommend Burly Guys for all of your “junk” removal projects!

Had a scheduled appointment back in August 2022 to remove junk from the Waterford home we were closing on the following day.On day of the scheduled appointment, Burly Guys was a complete no-show despite previous confirmation that he would do the job. Repeated attempts, all day long, to contact him went unanswered. Finally, out of desperation we had to use another junk removal service to perform the job Burly guys had scheduled and agreed to perform. Burly Guys Junk Removal completely flaked on us! We would have been charged a clean out fine by the new home owners had we not been able to get the junk removed in time for closing and the key hand off. Thanks for nothing Burly Guys Junk Removal.To make matters worse, this guy just disputed the review today (1/30/2023) that my wife had posted back on another review site in August. Four months after the initial review, he contests my wife’s review as being from a competitor. It most certainly is not from a competitor. Very unprofessional to claim that it is. Just say I’m sorry - there was an unexpected emergency and move on. Nope - this low class business claims it wasn’t a real review and was posted by a competitor!Beware of this guy! You’ve been warned. Had to leave one star but they aren’t even worth that.If anyone has doubts about how negative this review is or the nature of the user name - click my username and look at the other glowing reviews that I’ve left for other businesses that deserved it. Real person - real reviews.Updated 2/2/2023:What sort of respectable business simply writes off a legitimate customer complaint as being from a competitor? This guy is hopeless.
