Deena Speaks Dog

Deena did amazing work for my puppy, Piper. She had issues with nipping, jumping, and leash reactivity. After a few weeks with Deena, Piper is so much calmer and relaxed, almost like a different dog. I have to admit I was worried about doing a board and train program due to horror stories I’ve heard, but I knew Piper needed more serious intervention before it was too late. Deena surpassed my expectations. Piper still has a long journey to be a “perfect” dog, but I’m super grateful for the work Deena did to get Piper this far

Our Molly, a tenacious jack russel, spent a few weeks at Deena's in Caledon at the Dog Board and Train programme.We knew she would be a challenge as we had already tried a few other places for training without success.When we got Molly back boy oh boy were we surprised with the results she was so well trained. Deena and her staff did a marvellous job. They showed us their techniques and what we should be doing at home with her to keep up the training. The follow up appointment was great too as Deena then could see how we were progressing with her and gave us more tips on how to continue. We can now walk her without pulling, she doesn't chase cars and there are still some things we need to work on but it is a work in progress.We are so pleased with the results and couldn't be happier to have a well trained Jack. Couldn't recommend a better dog trainer then Deena and her staff. You can tell they love all the dogs that they train and I felt 100% comfortable leaving Molly for three weeks. We love it so much we are also boarding her there when we travel in the future.

Training with Deena was a game changer for Jordan and I. We booked a three pack session. Deena taught me so many things about Jordan’s body language, setting good boundaries and great ways to built our bond. After the first session, walking Jordan was a much more pleasant experience (no more pulling!) and we had a fun time training her to love sitting in her bed and on the carpet instead of taking over couch. Deena made us feel super comfortable and we had great sessions that involved both talking through situations and solutions as well as practicing techniques. We always went home with homework that was fun for both of us. Can’t say enough amazing things about Deena’s work with the two of us, we will definitely be staying in touch for any future needs. Deena is a Canine professional who truly knows her stuff. She is a very focused trainer who really understands Canine behaviour, and the relationship between handler and dog. If you ever have the good fortune to have her observe the interaction between you and your dog - write it all down to study later! We highly recommend Deena Cooper and her services at DeenaSpeaksDog. She is a very special, talented person who loves what she does, which undoubtedly contributed to her success.

Our Maltese Lexie loves Deena - she has stayed at Deena’s twice now and we have had a very positive experience.We have also done some in-home training with Deena which has been very helpful.Lexie is a COVID puppy and now 2 years old - we wish we had heard about Deena earlier and had done training with Deena earlier!

My rescue, Benny, has had two stays with Deena and her team, and I can't speak about the experience highly enough! Benny's first stay with Deena was during a move I had to do. Benny stayed for three weeks, and I had updates whenever I asked for them. On week two Deena phoned me herself to chat a bit about her observations, and we game planned some of his return to home. Week three of that stay, Benny opened up to the trainers and staff, and was having a great time! When I picked Benny up, he was (of course) happy to see me, but he was also significantly more trainable" than the dog I dropped off. I had such difficulty getting Benny to focus on a treat out doors

Deena saved us. I arrived in toronto with three dogs that hated each other. I had been living in a home with baby gates everywhere to stop fights. My kids and I did not want to live like that anymore, dogs fight cats fights … I sent them to board and train for three weeks . When they came back they could all walk next to each other. Deena crate trained them and this is a lifesaver. One of the cat had a beef with one of my dog , the fight would start and all the cats and dogs would join the fight…, and that dog is no longer reacting to the provocation. She looks at me and I call her over. They now sit on demand and look at my face and follow me . Every day I practice what Deena taught me . She came to my home for post training evaluation and gave me tips for my cats !And lo and behold , today , I left them in their respective room for a split second to pick up something and when I came back all three girls were playing together. As soon as they are in their crate they are relax and quiet, I can finally sleep. I am no longer being threaten of eviction … It changed our lives!

My dog Tucker went to Deena’s for 3 weeks and it was an amazing experience. He is much better / calmer socializing with other dogs and better behaved in our home. The staff were very professional and did two post board & train sessions with me (one at pick up and one with Deena a few weeks later). This was helpful in allowing us to keep up the skills at home. Thanks to Deena and her team for taking such great care of Tucker and helping him break some bad habits!

Deena really speaks dog!! After 3 weeks board and train at Deena’s Ollie returned much calmer, more focused on me and less distracted by his environment. He walks much better on a leash and I feel we are at a point, thanks to the training, that we both understand one another a lot better. Ollie is much happier and more confident and I can’t recommend Deena and her team enough!
