Great Clips

They pull up my specs on what length of trimmer to use. ( I have 4..top, sides,back/neckline, and top.) Always consistent. Aside from the best haircut, the detailed stuff was nice...clip that long eyebrow hair...ya know!! The best part?...the pleasant conversations I have with the employees and customers. Very relaxed environment. Thanks as always. See ya in 6 weeks!!

Walked in for my appointment (checked in online), with clean un styled hair (no gel). Walked out thinking everything was great. Got home and styled my hair (added gel). The stylist parted my hair on the left (longer on the left side, looks like it would be parted on the left), the left, why? My hair has been parted in the middle for over 30 years. I will never return or recommend.

Walked in at 7:30 after driving 20 min to get their. Needed a quick trim for my 8 yr old son. And we were refused because “it’s been a long day” said the worker not with a client! We had a long day too. What a waste of time. 40 min driving for nothing. There was one person giving a cut and another one apparently to tired!!!! I was going to book online but there wasn’t a wait time. So not needed. However online booking isn’t mandatory anyways. But she said we could come back tomorrow or Sunday. Absolutely not!!!!! We’ll be going somewhere else!!!!!

For 3 times I had my hair cut in this place and all 3 times I left the salon upset. At first I thought it was just a rude person who before I sat on the chair, asked what my background was. I wonder if they ask that to all white people who go there. The second time I had to hear an unwelcome advice that I should let my hair go all grey, it would look much better" they said. The third - and last time - today the hair dresser put her hand on my hair and with a shocking face she asked "why is it so stiff ?" I told her that's how my hair is and you make it sound it's a really bad thing. Horrible experience

OVERCHARGED $34 for a 5 year olds trim. Went in for a very minimal trim. This should have not been $34 for such a small job, not to mention how bad it was.

One of the worst haircuts I've ever had. Previously had good luck, but not yesterday. I asked the stylist at least 2, if not 3 times to shorten my hair, mostly on the left side. They continually combed the hair to the right side and trimmed a little off. The front of my hair is 1/2 longer on the left than the right and the whole left side is jagged and longer than the right side. I called this morning

We’ve been going to the Great Clips in Port Perry for many years now. Depending on the hairdresser, there’s been some good haircuts and some less than good haircuts. The last 2 visits in particular were not good experiences. My children and I will not be returning to Great Clips and I can no longer recommend their services at this point.The first negative experience was with my 7 year old son who is very friendly and happy to chat. The woman would not engage with him and they sat in silence. She nicked his ear and pushed his head in different directions rather than asking him to “look forward, look down” etc such as other hair dressers have in the past. He left feeling badly about his experience. On top of his ear being nicked, we were over charged on the bill, which my daughter pointed out later. When I contacted the owner, he offered a $3 refund and a coupon. He said it was the proper charge and that there was no mistake. He also asked me not to leave a negative Google review.The last visit, which was the final visit, was when my 16 year old daughter went to get her undercut shaved before attending a job interview. She’s had the same “line-up” since she got the undercut years ago, a nice straight lower line. When Maria went to re-shave the area, she brought it up much higher and there is no longer a nice tidy line across the back of my daughters head. To make matters worse, I watched my daughter remove a chunk of her hair after the undercut was “touched-up” followed by another clump once in the car. We have never had this happen before so when we went back in to ask the hairdresser, Maria, how this happened, she would only defend herself and say that my daughter came in with a “zig zag line” and that she fixed it. However, I’m not sure how cutting up far too high and losing 2 big chunks of hair is fixing anything. It was a simple undercut touch-up that turned into my daughter losing her nice clean hairstyle that she’s had for years and will have to grow out and restart as the line is above her ears now. We went back into the salon for an apology or refund at the very least but ended up with a defensive hair dresser with no interest in admitting to her mistake.

Suzanne did the best job, she was great at what she's does, and very pleasant to talk to. Ill will go back there again for sure.

Got in quick and staff member was friendly however the hair cut was uneven, one side of my son's hair was about an inch longer than the other side. He had to get it fixed elsewhere later that day
