awful awful staff. this place needs to be demolished for how they treated my dad. his dog got out and he’s a senior and they took advantage of him. he’s not good with technology so he doesn’t have any pictures of his dog and the spca decided they get to judge if he owns his dog or not. despite of my dad telling them multiple details about his dog they still said no to him. i even phoned there and they kept saying “oh i’m confident this is not your dog” then i left work early and i show up there and then they say “oh i’m confident this is your dog”. awful staff. i had to show 4 people the pictures i had and explain the story to all of them each time. worse place ever and terrible for how they treated my dad.

Disgraceful. The staff at this facility should be ashamed of themselves. Edmonton, we needs to reevaluate who is maintaining the welfare of animals and shut this place down.

I called them to report a puppy mill that was posing as a rescue and the woman I spoke to couldn't care less she launched into a long winded explanation on how rescues work, didn't ask questions as to why I thought this and told me to go talk to my MLA. I have been doing rescues 25 plus years which I told her and know how rescues work the information from me went over her head or she doesn't care, I'm so disturbed by this phone call and astounded that she's allowed to answer the phone when you call to advocate for animals and get such an unhelpful person I hate to think that people just won't bother to report talking to a person like this I wish I didn't have to leave one star but it wouldn't allow me to leave a zero.

Hi I would like to say I'm very disappointed with a certain officer I don't know if he works all of Alberta or not but recently mine and my brothers dog had to be surrendered however I got no notice no phone calls and the vet that we brought our pup to wasn't treated for serious injury I can say it looked bad when we brought the poor guy in but for the vets to do a half arsed job and blame neglect on one of the owners is pretty bad and the investigation wasn't performed properly I would like to know why a proper investigation wasn't done and why no education was given while speaking with both by-law and peace officers who do this job. I'm very upset at your enforcement teams power pushing when especially after we just moved and the vet we seen didn't do their jobs or rectify the situation as serious which they didn't do, I believe I should be getting an answer and a proper answer not a stuck up one as I'm more angry at this vet clinic your doing your jobs I appreciate that but this could have been handled way better and more professionally by the officers and respondents

Ryan Butterwick, YOU ARE A SAINT AMONG SAINTS!!! I had to try to reach out to you for saving Marvin. I can't imagine what your job must be like. The law is severely lacking and it breaks my heart to see this. Hope they don't have children. I just wanted you and those that were there to know how much we appreciate you. Thank you and take care out there. At least humans can talk. I think people like that should be exposed, they are, after all, criminals of the most pathetic type. And kudos to the person that made that call!

Picked out my 2yr old kitty and he is just Awesome! He is so much fun ! He has just fitted in so well! Love him!

Are you the ones who had horses for two months and then sent them to auction where they most likely would have been sold to be slaughtered? I saw the video of them. After two months with the Edmonton SPCA they are full of parasites and are extremely malnourished. Skin and bones. Thank god someone rescued them. The SPCA should be ashamed. Do better.

One big failing is not posting ALL LOCATIONS in all towns and cities Fort Mac pets may have been shipped to. Give all stressed owners a list of places their pets may be. They need a One Stop View of all rescue locations.

Very helpful staff, animals appear to be well kept, and staff is clear about any issues with the animals. If a staff member is unfamiliar with a question I've had multiple times where they will ask a coworker rather then give a incorrect answer. Also tidy and well kept.

Not at all helpful. Bylaw and peace officers tend to have a certain reputation and the people I dealt with today certainly lived up to that reputation. Is it too much effort to be kind and/or professional? I genuinely needed some information and guidance on a situation with a stray dog and had WAY higher hopes for the SPCA. I have never found a dog before and I have no idea what I am doing. I don't need to be accused of stealing it. Sigh. It's sad that both people I spoke with sound like they are beyond irritated by the responsibilities of their job. 11/10 awful experience.
