Taffeta and Tulle Bridal

Poor communication, false promises, awful service.My friend received a progress picture two months away from her wedding and it was nothing like what she had originally requested over 1 year prior. For weeks, she was asking to have it fixed and now that dress is apparently lost overseas. Taffeta and Tulle has forced her to pick a sample dress and pay additional fees to have it altered and cleaned, and they refuse to refund the amount she originally paid for what should have been a brand new custom dress.I almost wasn’t sure if this was the same company when I saw all the 5 star reviews from months ago, but seeing all the recent reviews with similar stories confirms it is.Do not shop here.

I got my wedding dress last year, I wasn’t going to make a post but I want other future brides to know.The communication was horrible and she never kept me up to date about when my dress was supposed to be in. She kept on making appointments for me to come in to see my dress and tell me the Day before my appointment it wasn’t in so I had to cancel with her four times. She said it would be in about couple months before my wedding, to find out it didn’t come in until two weeks before my wedding. Which I still needed it to get altered some more.All of this should have been avoided if I just got better communication.

It was a struggle just trying to set up an appointment with T&T and to be honest… I am so glad it did not work out and I went elsewhere because my friend has now been left a month before her wedding without a dress. She also had to fight for a refund, and still has not gotten the full amount back. This is such an unacceptable way to do business; to not communicate with brides weeks/days/months before their weddings is NOT okay. Leaving brides scrambling last minute to purchase a dress off the rack days before their weddings….. if you want to enjoy the process of wedding planning without stressing about the dress DO NOT shop here!!

I want to speak of my experience with Taffeta and Tulle in Airdrie.Communication...no follow ups, no mock up as promised .....no deliverance of product and services.Imagine paying $3800 10 months ago and promised X Y Z....having my maid of honour fly from Toronto for this experience.6 weeks before your wedding you are told there is no dress. She wasn’t able to tell me where my dress was, when it was sent to manufacture, no tracking on my gown. She could not tell me who was answering my text messages her or the assistant, the first of June when I kept messaging to inquire.This is what I experienced when I had tried in vain since February to get my mock up and dress in time for Aug 4th.No communication, no returned emails, no returned phone calls and no responses via text for days even weeks.No reassurance that the dream 1930's inspired wedding dress to go with our 1930's inspired wedding. No remorse from the owner...zero empathy. Good luck getting a refund....she had no intentions of providing the refund. She showed us that she refunded the amount of the gown so I could purchase another a week later - still no refund!She has no issues blaming all ongoing problems she has suffered on her assistant who no longer works there & personal issues she is suffering from.My fiancé and I had to literally chase her....source her private phone.....and force a refund from her via EMT. We were sent a portion one day via EMT and still had go back and source the rest the refund.Calling her - to get a response for the rest on our money.We then had to purchase another dress equivalent to the cost of the 1st dress, and pay in full for an off the rack dress. I am still upset as the new dress is not my custom made gown I dreamed of.We are 4 weeks from our wedding and she could not put herself in our shoes...it was all about her. I don’t love the dress I had to purchase, I feel my experience is now jaded and I don’t feel the same about the dress I had to buy.This is not the experience I would wish on anyone for their wedding..Taffeta and Tulle Bridal

Horrible experience, marisza basically ruined my wife's wedding day.She promised that she could deliver on a certain type of dress in the time frame, and majorly failed. During the purchase/design process she was also given NUMEROUS outs if she could not produce the effect on my wifes dress, to just say so and my wife would figure something else out. She failed to answer numerous messages in the meantime only to bring the botched dress to us A WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY.T&T only offered to cover the alterations on the dress that was only half done. ($120" which before the alterations were done she was claiming they would only be about $50 or so). My now wife was and still is devastated on the massive failure that was her dress and it definitely put a major damper on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life... and mine.An owner of a business should not be promising a final product that they're not sure they can deliver on and at the very least they should be compensating heavily for the heartbreak. Especially in this business.It would possibly help the situation if PROPER compensation were made. At least then we could maybe add it to the honeymoon fund."

I personally never purchased my dress from Taffeta and Tulle but after the lack of communication in December/January to book an appointment, I knew I didn't want to go here. I finally secured an appointment in December, but before the said date I actually found the dress at Embrace Bridal down the road! So I emailed, texted AND called saying I'm sorry I have to cancel at short notice for my appointment, is this okay? No response....and when finally someone picked up the phone, they hung up on me. I've had a few friends buy their dresses from Tafetta & Tulle and all had nightmares of no returned phone calls/texts, or the same old story of Because of covid

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My friend had purchased a custom dress from Taffeta and Tulle and did not receive her dress. She found it incredibly difficult to communicate with this lady. She would either not answer or gaslight her into thinking that she was being difficult. 2 months out from her wedding she finally got a photo of how her dress looked so far. It looked like it had been barely started, was so far off from what she had requested and it literally looked like a diy project (not in a good way). Please do not buy your dress from here. It smells like a scam to me.

Marisza was my ANGEL. I was not a chill bride when it came to my wedding dress: I spent months and months looking online, visited countless shops, tried on dozens of dresses, but nothing was quite right. I wanted something with coverage (the deep V trend this season isn't for me), I wanted extensive boning and supportive straps so I'd be comfortable dancing, I wanted POCKETS, I wanted a nice creamy champagne fabric that complimented my skin tone, and (as if that wasn't enough) I wanted a glittery overlay for my reception look. I came to the conclusion that I'd have to custom design my dress, but felt hopeless trying to make that happen. Every option I found was either far too expensive, too far from home (flying for fittings would be out of budget) or too unreliable (lack of reviews, etc). But then, at the last minute, just as I had decided to cave and buy a dress I wasn't happy with, a friend of a friend suggested I visit Taffeta and Tulle. This changed everything! Marisza heard about my dilemma and immediately offered to make my dreams come true, and in time for the wedding! Marisza is somehow both the coolest girl in class and the most *compassionate* girl in class, infinitely kind and so, so stylish. Working with her was just so much fun, and by far one of the highlights of my wedding. The dress arrived in time and I LOVED it!! Both the main dress and the glitter overlay. Marisza also custom made a veil for me using lace from my mother's dress, an incredibly touching idea and the perfect final touch. I will never get over how great my experience with Taffeta and Tulle was. Future brides, do yourselves a favour and shop here / custom design your dress with Marisza!!

I wanted to share some positive experience here even though the doors to taffeta and tulle are closing. I got my wedding dress from here for my 2021 wedding and it was the best experience ever. She listened to what I wanted and gave me so many options to make my dreams come true. I always recommended her to any friends that were getting married and many went had also had a fantastic experience! I can’t even begin to imagine what she is going through, but I hope she remembers how many bride’s she has helped and how many wedding dreams she has made come true for people. I will forever cherish my dress and my experience here <3
