My wife has moved on to assisted living but over the last year we were very fortunate to have the opportunity to share with the outstanding Victora Place Family". The staff has a truly wonderful combination of professionalism and kindness."

Combining warmth and caring with excellence is what I've experienced at Victoria Place. Mom recently became a resident here and from the beginning the amazing staff have been so welcoming to Mom to help her settle in. Her room is also bright and spacious with a lovely view. The meals are delicious with a great variety. Moms first month had some blips" as expected

A testimonial from a loved one...In the cycle of life one of the greatest challenges is seeing a loved one unable to care for themselves due to illness, old age or accidents.During the last year of his life my brother Ben was a resident at Victoria Place in Kitchener. We knew from situational experience how wonderful the care was.My parents had spent a short spell at the same facility while our mother was recuperating from heart surgery. It was the first time we had seen my father helpless.Our. mother was in need of care as was my dad. Victoria Place allowed them to be together while the staff made sure our mother was well cared for and able to convalesce.Ten years later - Victoria Place gave the family peace of mind knowing my brother was comfortable and always in great company. It doesn’t feel like an institution or nursing home. Dignity is truly a human imperative and kudos to VP for creating such a climate.Humanity is both a noun and a verb. Whoever does the staffing recruitment knows this. The culture at Victoria Place is one of dignity, humanity and community.Everybody from the night nurses, to the food prep people and office staff truly seem to work as a team. It feels like a family business. And there’s no better place for a family member in need of care. The food is incredible! The residents are offered choices and the kitchen staff are very creative! During the year so Ben was at Victoria Place he always looked forward to dining with those he had connected with.On various occasions we too would enjoy meals with the residents.Worthy of mention, after my brother’s passing it was surprising how much we missed some of the people at Victoria Place. I can honestly say having visited many people in other homes, Victoria Place could actually be fun. Let’s just say there wasn’t much censorship between the guests. You could always hear laughter and see smiling faces. That is not something any of us would expect in our younger years. Whatever darkness was around the corner there was always a light of hope resplendent. It really doesn’t matter when we get to the finish line. It matters how.Rest assured my friends, there is no better place in Kitchener Waterloo for those you love in need of comfort, safety and as mentioned… Community.Thank you Victoria Place.Elliott Shulman

Victoria Place Retirement Community, When choosing a retirement community for my brother we were overwhelmed with decisions. From the very moment we parked the car we knew we had found his forever home. In the designated parking space was a sign specially made with our names. How very welcoming and thoughtful. Upon meeting their Consultant Cheryl we were guided on a tour of the community and it really felt like home. Coffee was waiting and we sat down to discuss the possibilities!! The meals were excellent and activities endless, we knew we were making the right decision!!

it is with deep sadness that my father Jim must leave Victoria Place and start a new chapter at Hilltop Manor, long term care. My father is afflicted with dementia, so finding a retirement home for him was a challenge, but he was assessed and admitted within a week of my visit Jim moved into Victoria Place 4 years ago after the death of his beloved wife. He also had to leave his home in Toronto and was filled with sadness, confusion and fear. Victoria Place offered a respite room for a month to see how he would do, and he adapted, albeit it hesitantly. Because of the compassion, care and family atmosphere Victoria Place provided, he learned to love it and considered it home. He was able to spend 4 years here until he needed extended care. Even though Dad can be ornery and stubborn he was treated with the utmost respect and endeared himself to many staff. My family and I are forever indebted to all of the wonderful staff at this fine facility and thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

My mother just recently moved in to Victoria Place and it was a great transition. Caroline, the sales consultant, was professional, caring and is an excellent ambassador for the community. She took the time to answer my questions and addressed all my concerns. There was a real sense of empathy for ensuring us that we were making the right decisions. The community is welcoming and friendly from the front desk receptionist, to the staff, to the residents themselves. Very welcoming! The suite is bright and sunny and newly renovated. The meal we were served was excellent and the meal plan I was shown was quite varied with options for all tastes. The common areas were clean and inviting. We were shown a couple of options for accommodations and given a tour from top to bottom of all the community has to offer. It is a great location being right next to Victoria Park. My mother is very happy with our choice and I am happy to know that she is excellent hands. A special thank you to Caroline for all her excellent help and support!
