John Knox Christian School - Elementary Campus

Been here during a huge transition period. I was in the old building, then Millside, then in the new building, and am now seeing how the school splits into two. This place was the foundation of my education for eight years, a magnificent place with teachers that really care about you and challenge you to learn independently.I had:Mrs. ValkenierMiss Blackstock (now muller)Ms. StuartMrs. Vegt & Mrs. DewithMrs. PeerboomMr. MoorisonMr. Rogers & Mr. YeeMrs. Braax & Mr. WithrowThese are names I will remember for years to come, the impact they had on me will reverberate through my life until the end of it on earth.

One of the best elementary schools. Super teachers, super parent volunteers, lots happening here all the time. Administrators keep things focused and make sure each child gets the right level of support and attention.

Our son has been going here for the past 6 years and has had an excellent experience. In addition to the care and attention provided to the students there is a great sense of community between the parents and staff. It has been a great learning environment for our son.

As a person who attended this school, I’d say there are Fun and amazing teachers ,none of the teachers are rude and most students are well behaved. They also have amazing , fun activities and field trips especially the end of grade 5 and 6 .every culture is welcomed and respected by the teachers.

Our daughter started attending JKCS in grade 5. She was concerned about the high level the school has in Math. John Knox has been giving her extra-support in this subject. She is in grade 7 now and Math is her favorite subject!

Our family is so blessed to be part of the JKCS community since 2012 when our oldest started Kindergarten. I have 4 children, 3 of which currently attends JKCS and one awaiting his turn to start Kindergarten in 2 years. We feel the kids have benefited from the exceptional teaching staff that we have at JKCS. They not only teach my children academics but have loved them and cared for their growth as individuals. Moreover, it is in their school culture that every family there is looking out for each other's kids, not just their own. This is priceless to me. It gives me great comfort to send my kids there every morning and know that they are taken care of and have a safe environment to grow up in.

Our daughter and son have been in JKCS since kindergarten. She is graduating to the high school this year. He is enjoying grade 2.JKCS has been a great school for us. There it is short and simple.Now for the slightly longer version. From the very beginning we felt the personal attention that our daughter needed and got. It was however more that personal attention. It was coupled with confident experience and applied wisdom. Over the years we have seen the same over and over again; wisdom, experience, attention, and Christ-like role modeling.When I became more involved in the school’s governance, I saw it again in the staff and principal. And when the teaching and curriculum development staff started grappling with the new BC curriculum some 5 years ago (before it was finalized and issued, and they incomplete outlines to build from), I witnessed another few character traits; positivity and industrious ingenuity. These are the things that I’ve witnessed at John Knox Christian School. I am not alone in finding it to be a great school. The BC ministry of Education regularly audits schools for performance, and consistently give it top marks.Both of our kids have benefited from the S.O.I. program that no other school had when we started. What a wonderful tool and resource to have at hand.

We have had our son in JKCS since kindergarten. The teaching staff have been caring and attentive to his development both academically and socially. The teaching and admin staff have always had professional and open communication with us. We are highly encouraged by what we see.

I was attending a ball hockey tournament at another local Christian school and the students from Jon Nox were very ill mannered. Some of their team members forcibly locked us out of the gym and had poor sportsmanship. Sadly, they were disrespectful to other visiting teams. If this is any indication of how the school molds children into caring, functional adults, I am very glad mine don't attend there.

I have two children who attend this school. Now in grade 1 and 3. So far our experience has been amazing. Every single teacher has been fabulous, caring and supportive. Their doors are open to the child and parent when help is needed. My children have gained close relationships with friends, support with great teachers, and their education is top notch.
