Michigans Best Deck Builders

Had Michigans best deck out months ago for a quote and have contacted them many times and they have still not got back to me. Poor customer service.

After receiving several estimates I decided to go with Michigan's Best Deck Builders. They are a local company and do excellent work. Even through several design changes the crew ensured I was happy with the look and functionality of the deck. I can not say enough about the team of carpenters that worked on my project they were very skilled and pleasant to work with. They also did a great job keeping the job site clean.

I had several deck companies offering estimates. I did not simply choose the lowest one, I chose the better one. The task was to replace the existing deck surface and rails, and expand the square footage and change the shape while using existing understructure.The crew came out to work and understood the plan. Great crew. When I noticed was what I thought was a big issue, I addressed it with the crew and when I did, they took care of it like it was no big deal (it was) and did it courteously. That’s a huge bonus. They had to work in the rain and in lots of mud.Now the new deck looks awesome and I’m very happy. The fit and finish is great. Went with Trex , let’s see how that goes.Bottom line, I’d hire them again.

If you’ve ever worked with contractors, you’ll find an entire spectrum of personalities and workmanship. He was incredibly meticulous and methodical with his quote and sketch from the start. He answered all of our questions with confidence and he was very calm (not salesy/pushy). We continued to take several weeks to obtain 5 additional quotes from other deck builders in the area. There are some great ones out there with big names, flashy marketing, and superstar type-A personalities, and competitive “we’ll beat any quote” pricing, and they all made us feel very comfortable, no complaints.Here’s where Michigan’s Best Deck Builders stood out: Aaron runs a tight ship and doesn’t outsource his work to a 3rd party team. He was on our job every day and built our deck himself, with his own dedicated crew. There was never a time that he didn’t return a text or a phone call within a few hours and was on top of the schedule. We never had to ask or question anything.That said, his quote was not the cheapest, but we unanimously chose him as he was incredibly reliable and the service quality was meticulous from quote to finish. That’s not something we found to be common these days; and if you’ve had to deal with chasing contractors, you’ll value reliability and quality over all.The deck is beautiful and the experience was absolutely stellar. -Highly recommended!

How time flies when you're having FUN enjoying your dream deck!!! Only a year ago (review would have come sooner but I just learned how to Google and post), my husband and I started a serious hunt for the right company we could trust to construct our dream deck. We did our homework, checked out five companies, read all the reviews and setup appointments to meet with three of them. It was evident from the start Michigan's Best Deck Builders" was our number one choice! Funny side story...Warren sealed the deal the first time we met

We reached out to this business at the beginning of the year because we really liked their previous works displayed on their website. Their website says they work all over Michigan so we sent them a quote request. They responded that they don't normally work in our area" but asked us to send them pictures of the project and they'll think about it. We haven't heard from them since. They probably saw the pictures and decided we were beneath them to work with. The funny thing is yeah

Do not, and I mean DO NOT, use this company for any reason whatsoever. My wife and I reached out to the company at the beginning of January, 2022 to inquire about building a new deck at our home. We met with a representative, finalized the deck plans, and signed the contract. We didn't set a start date because we knew we would be out of town for a week or so, which the representative said was absolutely fine. After returning from vacation we attempted to get in contact with our representative numerous times, but was never able to. Shortly after we had to postpone the project indefinitely due on our animals needing emergency surgery. It wasn't until I informed the representative of this update that I heard from them. They informed us that it was absolutely understandable and that we could contact him whenever we wanted to move forward. That was the beginning of February. We are now into July (5 months later) and I have not once heard back from my representative after calling and texting numerous times. I decided to reach out to the office instead to inquire about my project, and received no response from them either. By the middle of May I decided to simply cancel the contract since it was clear I would not be able to move forward with my contract. After leaving a message informing them that I had wished to receive my deposit back I FINALLY received a return call. However, this is where the real nightmare begins. I was verbally assaulted and screamed at by the company's secretary, Marilyn. Not only was she obscenely rude but she had no interest in helping us out whatsoever. All she would scream was that it was my fault that the contract was delayed and that there was no way we would ever get a refund. I asked to speak the owner, Aaron, and was told that he would call me, but I have yet to speak to him either.I have never experienced a more insincere and unprofessional company as Michigan's Deck Builders. Avoid them at all cost.

Had the unfortunate experience of Seth today. He was commenting on Facebook posts talking about how much better he is than other people because he sells 50k decks. Because of this I will never consider their business or recommend them to anyone I know-Mike S.
