Monk's Grill
Adam server is the most pathetic, rude and lethargic. Bring my sandwich & fries cold and saying that I get ya new fries. I mean, what's wrong with you and where's your customer services. I wonder whoever hires him definitely need training for himself coz this is completely irresponsible and worst experience I've ever had.

Surprise place for a quick lunch before departure from YVR to YYZ.The service was fast and the meals very tasty. I even overheard a Lady from the nearby tables praising the calamari. I can say they looked very tasty.

Monk's Grill
This is for Monks Grill at YVR.My dog eats better than what we were served. First off the food was on paper plates, soup in paper cups & reused/washed plastic utensils. My ham & cheese sandwich was on cheap white bread with ham & cheese that must have been sourced from the lowest bidder. Four of us ate and all four left most of the food on the plates. Staff was fast and friendly.

Okay food, serves was decent, environment nice but as I bite into my second half of my ham & Brie grill cheese sandwich it tasted funny. I had to spit it out as when I investigated the sandwich I noticed mold on the bread. Also the cheese didn’t taste like Brie as it tasted mild like mozzarella or something with cheesy texture but no cheese flavour. I had it with a Cesar salad that they claimed they made there croutons but the croutons I got were from a bag. Also I had to pick through the lettuce as it was hard ends, brown ends and wilted lettuce so not impressed with my food. I gave it a 3 as my husband said his food was okay. Decent.

Decent place to grab a bite to eat, though I did not find the Monk's Burger to be striking in flavour, nor were the fries salted (not necessarily bad, just very difficult to get salt to stick to them if you would prefer your fries salted). Very convenient location, and there has always been space for seating whenever I have been there. The serving staff are excellent.

Some of the worst food I've had in a while. Steak is $40, allegedly 10oz but looks like 4oz, and is served on paper plates. Potatoes were undercooked, veggies were sparse, and the server even brought out extra steak because the amount we were originally served was unacceptable" (his words.) This would be a good four star place anywhere. For an airport it is five star. I've had some terrible one star experiences at airports recently and this is a refreshing change.

I had fish and chip, it was cooked properly golden crispy and so was the fries, the server was good and the ambiance was good, inside the Vancouver airport close to gate C49
