We were there for a striploin steak dinner for Father’s Day. The steak had no flavour was tasteless and was barely warm and not very tender. The waiter never came and asked us how our meal was during our dinner. Asked for a straw for my Singapore Sling and never did get one. Had to go to the washroom to get wet paper towel to wipe the grenadine from my glass and table. There was customers that came in after us and were served their beverage and their order taken long before they took our order. We were very disappointed

Our first visit to the new Pictou N&C. Rainy day, so it was quiet. The restaurant is really nice and clean. The menu has a great variety of food. For lunch we each had a burger. We had the Mushroom & Smoked Gouda and the BBQ & Bacon. They were delicious! We both had them with the hand-cut fries. The service was fast and friendly. We asked some questions and found out that they have live music every Saturday. They also said that in the next few weeks they are opening the upstairs which has a separate bar area.

Lovely spot, charming, kind, staff. Food, top notch, swiftly and lovingly served. Chowder was chock fulla fish and creamy potatoes, a summer chowder, light but rich and warming. Club sandwich greatly presented and harvest salad was perfectly balanced.

Great meal, 8oz strip and seafood linguine, suggestion, a main pork item like a nice center cut chop with garlic mashed, veggies etc Stephanie was great, efficient in a busy atmosphere. Will return next special occasion hope see a pork main.

Food was good ..Service was slow..We had a group at 2 tables, definitely received 2 different qualities of service.1st table had 3 servers helping out while the 2nd had 1, and not a very good one . .Was our 2nd trip there and now our last ..

Overall, disappointing. Fries were burnt, korean chicken sandwich was dry and chewy, service was very absent. Location is nice and near the water but would look for a different restaurant if in the area again.

I got the fish and chips and wifey got a stuffed chicken dish. Both were perfect. Great craft beer. Great staff. And great view.

What an utter disappointment!We ordered fish and chips for one and blackened haddock filet for the other.Fish and chips: nothing special or it should be that the batter was enormous.Blackened haddock: two filets, one was small and the other a sliver of leftover. Nowhere it was black. It was soggy with no flavour. What a waste.Service:We had to ask for cutlery when the meal was served. It took another two minutes before the waitress came back. The extra napkins we asked for never showed up.When it came to payment we had to wait another five minutes until she showed up with the bill. Another four before she returned to pay with the machine. This waitress was in too deep.Maybe that the older waitresses that used to work at Pictou Lodge are better, but ours was not great.The basics is that you bring cutlery with the menus, but not here.No, we want to but cannot recommend this location. Go to Harbour House when you want to feel being treated as a valuable customer in Pictou.And when you really want to go N & C, go to the one in Truro, much more ambiance and higher quality of food preparation.
