These guys are the best!!!They really dwent above and beyond for me eachtieac I have gone in.Although I have not yet needed a starter or alternator repaired, they have saved a lot of money, time and frustration repairing my trolling motors and replacing power trim on my outboards.Always call them 1st with a DC motor issue.

I just got an alternator from this place and it works amazing! My mechanic quoted me $200 for an alternator(remaned) so I called these guys. They said $135, and wow this thing looks brand new and even has a factory core.(Ford Motorcraft) I should also mention that my last alternator from one of those aftermarket places was a complete piece of junk from day 1 and never worked properly. Don't waste your time or money and just visit Oakville Starter & Alternator. Great parts and service there!

Just a factual account of my experience with Oakville Starter and Alternator.Sent in an alternator for a rebuild. When the product was returned and re-installed, the charging light came back on in the car. We returned the alternator and asked to have it checked. Was told that it was working correctly. We re-installed it for the second time and while it was charging at 14 volts, the light still came back on. We called Oakville Starter and Alternator and asked them how they tested the alternator. We were told that they tested it and it works. I asked how it was tested and they would not give me an answer. I then asked them what voltages should come off each lead and they could not tell me thet either. I was then told that I was 'wasting' too much of thier time. I respectfully told them that I just needed thier help as they were the alternator experts and the individual said I'm not an alternator expert"???I finally got someone who understands alternators to test it and he immediately identified a persistent voltage drop which pointed to defective diodes or rectifier. We then took the alternator apart we found that the insulating cardboard had been ripped as it was assembled and there was a potential short to the alternator body. We also found that the diodes had not been replaced.When I called and asked for a refund I was met with considerable pushback. They said they do quality work and 'stand behind thier product'. I mentioned that they were clearly not standing behind thier product in this case. Thier final offer was a 50% refund as a credit. This is of no value to me as

Friendly folks there, but that's where the positivity ends.I brought them a heavy-duty 120V AC motor from an electric winch. They told me it’s not something they normally worked on but it’s not really that much different from an automotive starter motor. It took them almost a month and a couple hundred dollars to discover it was only wire disconnected from the internal rectifier.After picking it up and attempting to use it, it smoked and then siezed up within 2 minutes. I suspect they didn’t tighten and allign the armature correctly. They said bring it back and that they’d take a look at it, but it might take a while as they were busy. They had it for almost a year and never looked at it, so I picked it up today and have to pay someone else to fix their mistake. Hopefully someone who values their customers and takes pride in their work.
