I take issue with a white proprietor co-opting rallying slogans of a racialized and oppressed group. (see photo, this is in reference to Daryl's poster about COVID-19 and vaccination)

I'm sorry to have to write this, but I think this place is a chop shop. I brought my bike here for a simple tune and asked him to change my cables. It was returned to me with half of my components gone and replaced with poorer quality ones, including my casette, drivetrian and pedals. None of this work was requested - or listed on the final work order. I'm really disappointed, and feel completely ripped off. Will not be returning.

I should have written this review months ago. I ride an electric bike and have had issues with it since I bought it in Vancouver in July 2018. Was in Nelson July 2019 for a charity bike ride and found that my motor didn't work AGAIN. SecretService was able to look at it same-day and even though he wasn't familiar with the type of motor I have, he was able to make it work! The price was EXTREMELY reasonable. Can't recommend this place enough.

So, to the couple of people that posted that the owner of this cycle shop was a covid denying anti-vaxxer who was nuts and abusive about mandates and misinformation - WELL! Where is your apologies and retractions now that the world knows we were all lied to and manipulated?! The bug is real, but the way information was suppressed, peopled bullied, coerced, and money dumped into BIG CORPORATE banks under false pretenses - it really was only harmful to that small vulnerable minority. This was known by those paying attention and doing good critical thinking...yet these people were mocked and ostracized (some even lost their jobs and familial ties). Hope you've learned; namely about propaganda, human behaviour, biology, and that government and big pharma do not have your best interest in mind. The owner of this store was right to refuse to comply and take YOUR abuse.

Darryl is a bike magician! Not only did he help me revive an awesome, '90s rigid mountain bike and turn it into a bike-travelling freedom machine, but he totally revitalized my entire set-up after many kilometres of rugged wear and tear, all for an extremely reasonable price, very little wait time and with a giant smile! He had every part in stock (which is impressive for the vintage of my bike) and put extra care and elbow grease into every thing he did for me! I totally recommend taking your bike to Secret Service Cycles in Nelson, BC!

Good mechanic, seems to know what he's doing. But he's an anti-masker and believes in fact that covid-19 is hoax. So that's a 1-star review from me. Any business helping to prolong this mess that we're in doesn't deserve your support.

Sold me some decent used parts for a good price, but didn't mention anything about sizing or whether it would fit. Then I needed to buy some extra parts to accommodate the ones I had just purchased, and he wouldn't ring through an $8 sale with debit or credit, knowing I needed the parts for the other parts he sold me, and I didn't have cash. The owner isn't very nice and is out for the money.

Darryl is competent and fair and can usually get to your bike in less time than the some of the other shops. Plus he is happy to work on old bikes to keep them on the road and out of the junk pile. A true local business who deserves the support

The owner here loves bikes. He's prices for tuning and repair are better than the local competition and this shop does not treat customers poorly for not having an expensive downhill bike.

Would not recommend. Had my trike for about 2.5 months, in the end he replaced" the brake. Took the original components for my speedometer on the 70's bicycle
