Tanbridge Academy

My daughter adores Tanbridge, like a warm family, as all teachers are kind and caring, and we are also pretty satisfied with the school life. The equestrian lessons are amazing!

Amazing teachers, environment and students

When I enrolled in Calgary Academy from Grade 6 to Grade 8 in 1999-2002 Linda Choy was my Principal. But now she's the Principal of Tanbridge Academy.The learning support was great. I learned ways of organizing myself in school. I was well educated, despite me having a hard time learning and focusing at school. I was able to learn easily at Calgary Academy. I also enjoyed reading more.I was in grade 5, but I was transformed to a grade 6 class to be with people of my age and I could get along with. The Calgary Board of Education reassured me of moving up with the grade of my age. But Linda Choy decided to throw me down a grade, as I was held back in grade 1, because of my learning disability. I was thrown in classrooms with kids younger then me, who I had a rough time fitting in with. It made me depressed and I miserable for 3 years. I was made fun of as well. My parents and I tried to fight against it. But she had too much power and would not accomadate me for it. My transition to Calgary Academy was not smooth. Apparently recently the Calgary Board of Education decided to not allow schools to hold student back a grade up to grade 9, because it can traumatize people as it effected my social development. That was one of the reasons I left CA after Grade 8. I resent Choy for what she did to me.But I never went to Tanbridge Academy, so I don't know what it's like. But since she's the Principal there, I hope she can learn from my experience.

Small classes and lots of one on one attention to the students.

Wonderful school with kind supportive teachers.Only downside to us is the limited number of girls in my daughters class. Small class sizes are great, until you realize that also means very limited friend options for your kids, and a different level of experience in relationship skills. They do pull multiple grades together for specific initiatives and recess/lunches, which is great and gives kids the opportunity to work with younger and older children.Even with this challenge, Tanbridge is a great place for my daughter to learn and we look forward to the next few years.She loves the added dance program with Ms. Lisa, and has thoroughly enjoyed every homeroom teacher she has had to date. Its also refreshing that the Principal is involved. Ms Choy knows myself, and my daughter by name.Keep up the good work. :)

This is the best school in Calgary! Amazing caring staff, and a principal that goes above and beyond everyday!We can’t say enough great things about this school. Our children love going to school.... thank you to the wonderful staff!

We have switched many schools, to face total incompetence! Until we have got to this one. Tanbridge is on a whole other level!*it has before/after-school-care.
