A really great place to learn carpentry and for an apprenticeship. Open and inclusive and friendly learning environment at the CCAT. Love the school and the class mates and co workers. Once you get in the field you will be able to showcase your skills learnt from class.. with your journeyman to help you a long the way. Great instructors and coordinators. It’s a Brotherhood and sisterhood. Work hard. Study. And learn. And you’ll do great. Most importantly show up to work , 15-30 minutes prior to shift!!!

Pick and choose who their members put on their benefits. Excludes their spouse and one of their kids. Disgusting members pay for their benefits and this union thinks they can control who the members have. No other union makes their members prove that their kid is their kid.

Good luck getting hired as a first year apprentice. My son can't even get solid work if his life depended on . They automated job system is trash. How can you get anywhere if you can't start. So much for a need for people to be in the trades.

They spend all your union money on unnecessary renos on the building, not to mention going right into the pockets of the board. Your pension goes missing and it’s your fault. The actual instructors are fantastic but it’s so incredibly mismanaged it’s like a mini Canadian government. Also if you ever get a union branded anything you are very lucky

They don't have jobs, and if they do, you won't work there for long. Ask them to give you your rights and obligations in writing. Also the norms of work that you must do per hour or per day.
