Toronto Paramedic Services - Station 29

On Sunday morning, approximately 4:30am, I called 911. My mother, Jacqueline Clegg, has dementia. She was rambling, deliriously,,for 2 days without sleep; she had never had this before. I checked her blood, heart rate, temperature...all within normal.I had the flu and was up for two days with her, trying to calm and lay down with her...nothing helped.The paramedics that responded, saw what mom was doing and proceeded to evaluate her.Heart rate, blood sugar, blood pressure were well above her normal lows. The male paramedic is who she responded to immediately. She was joking and more alert.They had a great manner with her as she's 91. They were professional, kind and gave me options.As there is a flu epidemic, I was alerted to this. But, since she calmed down and her stats were good, I declined to take her to hospital so not to make her susceptible to the viruses.After they left, she settled down immediately panda slept for 12 hours and has been better.I would like to thank them for their service.
