Stave Lake Veterinary Hospital

Now as ex-clients of Stave Lake Veterinary we just experienced the worst non assistance possible for our distressed senior dog. Suspected of suffering with a stroke late last night. After discovering him wandering and stumbling around at 4:00 in the morning in obvious distress we comforted him until Stave Lake Veterinary opened then called them to get our family member in. They responded with sorry cannot help you we've no openings, go elsewhere. I would urge anyone considering this office to reconsider, obviously your pets health is not top priority regardless of the circumstances. Pam & Lance Ferguson PS: if we could give a negative star we would. Cedar Grove Veterinary were booked solid yet have made time for our boy.

The people here are amazingCaring, warm and they really get to know your animal. The first time we went in the vet came out and hung out with our pup for 20 minutes. Then we set an appointment. It really has been an amazing 8-ish months.

Super lovely staff! Took such great care of our kitty and super knowledgeable! Definitely one of the greater experiences I’ve had at a vet. Kudos!

Super kind staff and amazing vet who was very patient with my boy! Was very honest throughout the whole appointment and gave me many options to choose from. I could tell they wanted what was best for him and not make me pay super expensive prices if I didn’t have to. Thank you all for being such an awesome team! :)

Last week I had to make the hardest decision, to allow my sweet senior pitbull cross over the rainbow Bridge due to old age and more importantly failing health. The staff at Stave Lake Vet were incredibly supportive and understanding. They took ink prints of Lucy's nose and Paws for me and gave me a beautiful card that the whole staff signed and wrote words of kindness and support.I want to especially say thank you to Dr. Christine Smetschka. She was incredibly helpful, and informative, she provided me with options and always wanted what was the best outcome for both Lucy and myself. Whenever I had questions she did her best to answer them and if she didn't have the answer she found resources that would guide me in my research. She understood how hard this end of life journey was and was always supportive, kind, patient, and non-judgmental.I will take my time to grieve and most likely won't get another dog/pet for a few years, but once I adopt a pet into my home again, I will definitely be returning to Stave Lake Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Christine Smetschka.

We unfortunately had to put our beloved dog to sleep today, but the staff and Doctor at stave lake animal hospital were nothing but kind, compassionate and helpful. This is not our normal vet, but they were willing to take us in and help our Tonka cross to the other side painless and comfortably. Thank you so much to the doctor and all the staff we interacted with, you are amazing humans ❤️

We took our dog here to get a second opinion as he was not improving, we knew the news was not what we hoped for and unfortunately we had to put our beautiful pit bull down. The staff and vet were so compassionate and understanding to our feelings, the vet herself had just put down her dog down a month prior. They let our dog have all the treats he wanted, gave us our space to mourn and let us stay after they had closed for the night . afterwards we received a card signed by all the staff members which really touched our hearts. Although it was under sad circumstances, I do really appreciate the kindness the team at Stave Lake veterinary showed me and my family .

These guys showed the most sincere love and concern for our stinky old dog when she required surgery( a lot less stinky now). ❤️

Followed my wonderful vet to this practice but they are def rip offs for pricing. Much higher prices for items such as bravecto etc ($85 here but $60ish everywhere else). Their new receptionist is very terrible for information & knows nothing it seems like & doesn’t bother to try to figure it out. Upped their already high prices without a warning to current customers (would have been nice to know for my re-exam fee I didn’t know was required for second shots). Nice in person but over the phone when you question things they’re fairly rude.It’s only getting a 3 star as the staff who came from coastal rivers to there are still good.

phoned around for pricing to spay a cat . From Aldergrove to Abby they are by far the most expersive. Langley spay and neuter clinic 169 to there 500 dollar charge. Will be surprised if they stay open long. Shop around people.
