General Credit services lack any empathy. I had a payment arrangement I had been paying for a good while, my income went down and with struggles I continued to do my best. I missed a payment in late April and early may my apartment flooded. Less then 30 days late I offered to make the back payment and rearrange the payment to something more manageable. I was told I would need to make the payment then increase my monthly arrangement or they would send it in to have a small claims in court. I guess I'm going to court, I already have a attorney consultation set up. I made a real effort to resolve this less then 30 days after a missed payment and take steps to prevent this again, but its their goal to get this to court. I will be counter sueing for legal fees and I will try to counter sue them for my balance based on all the stress they are putting me through because they are a litigious organization who buys your debt just to try and destroy you with it.

Non-stop calling and threatening demand letters .They aggressively harass people over the phone. I will be contacting the proper authorities to escalate this matter.

Feels a bit weird to be giving a collections company anything more than zero stars but Selina was helpful. I can't speak for anyone on here because it seems they were contacted and told about an outstanding bill from a company only to find out they are free and clear but in my experience it was the opposite where I had looked at my credit score and saw an outstanding debt that I didn't even know existed with ICBC. Upon talking with ICBC they transferred me over to speak with GCS. I was already on edge regarding a debt I didn't even know I had let alone needing to speak with a collections company is usually filled with rudeness on their end. It wasn't like that this time. Selina was very helpful and informative and we set up a way to get rid of this outstanding balance as quickly as possible. So far this is 5 star customer service which I'll update some more down the line if need be but for now it's been great dealing with them.

Absolute horrible experience with Shannon Hill. I'd I could rate zero stars I would. She told me my grand total of debt, we arranged payments to take care of it and now months later, I find out that I'm paying for only a portion of it. When I asked her about it, instead of helping me find a solution, she got defensive and said I should never assume the total I'm told is correct. I asked to talk to someone else and she said that I don't have a choice, I can only talk to her. At this point I was irritated by the unprofessionalism and then I asked if I'm wrong to assume that the person handling my account would give me the correct info, she told me to drop dead and hung up on me. I'm not sure if the whole company operates this way but Shannon Hill should be in this position. She is dealing with people's credit and their livelihood.

I know, nobody likes dealing with collections, but there are reasonable ways to go about collections that would not have led to this complaint. According to General Credit Services, I owed a debt to Revenue Services BC that Revenue Services says I do not owe. No big deal, these things happen, and Revenue Services tells me to contact General Credit Services to have the issue resolved. The agent at GCS told me that he cannot get the issue resolved as they have no contact with Revenue Services - which is false, I was able to get the issue escalated and spoke to a manager the first time. The second time, however, the same agent lied and claimed that the the conversation never took place. He was very condescending with my inability to pay the debt on the spot. It might have been an amount that was trivial to him, but he had no idea of my personal situation at the time. When I did eventually manage to pay off my account, it showed up as a credit on my Revenue Services account, which went to prove that I didn't owe the debt.

worst services. they say they are not customer service and they don't have a time for explanation . just pay outstanding bill or will effect your credit . they are just giving threat .not willing to help ..very bad ..poor employee

non stop calling. I have contacted Telus and paid what is owed. every time they contact me they say I owe a different amount as well. don't give this scam company a dime. edit: I will not be contacting you, LOL. I hate this company and every scammer out there

This “company” is a SCAM. Report them for FRAUD and don’t pay a cent. They called and emailed me about a Telus bill amount that I apparently owe but I contacted Telus directly and I have nothing outstanding with them. They told me to beware of people like this that would rather STEAL people’s money than get a real job.

Settled a debt with them in 2019 and they never closed the account, still shows as “account open” on my credit report. The settlement agreement entailed an account closure as a whole, they do not hold up their end of the deal.
