I have taken several cats and kittens to this wonderful rescue shelter....I always leave knowing they will be taken care ....we live in the country and for some reason cats and kittens know to come here for help....StFrancis does just that....

I adopted my kitten at PetSmart through St. Francis Animal Rescue. Although I had never spoken with the organization directly, they put a lot of effort into providing their adopters with information about introducing your new pet to your home, recommended vets, training, etc. I especially appreciated their emphasis on never declawing your cat. It is obvious they care about the health and well-being of their animals. Don't listen to previous negative reviews about the shelter's adamance of their declawing and other health policies - when you adopt a cat it is your responsibility to treat them with the greatest respect and care! Highly recommend this organization if you are looking to adopt.

My nine year old daughter and I were looking to adopt a new kitty for my daughters Christmas gift. We adopted from St. Francis this last weekend 12/8/2018. Within an hour of bringing the kitten home I noticed that the cat had gooey, green discharge from her right eye and I called the foster parent, Amanda immediately. She stated that maybe she had gotten kitty litter in her eye and I said that I had other kitty’s previous and that this was an infection. I brought the kitty to the vet on that following Monday and was told that she had feline herpes and would always suffer with this recurring infection. * Please google feline herpes* I did not sign up for a sick cat, and not only a sick cat but one with an ongoing health issue that is very serious... I got ahold of Amanda again and let her know the situation. And she agreed to meet and take the kitty back. When I arrived to drop off she had an attitude with me, she took the kitty immediately and put her in with all the other cats in her “care.” She did not quarantine the kitten. Feline herpes is highly contagious and everyone should know what they are investing in, because I had no idea. I asked if there was any way to be refunded my $200 adoption fee because they knew she was sick. I explained that this was my daughters Christmas present and I am a single mother. She said no and basically pushed me out her front door, quite abrasive. I’m so upset about how this shelter handled this situation and buyer BEWARE!

St Francis is a wonderful cat rescue that puts the welfare of the cats FIRST. NO kitten or cat is adopted from this rescue BEFORE it's spayed or neutered to prevent even more over population of cats. Thank You St Francis Animal Rescue.

This place was the BEST! I have adopted 2 cats in the past from the Humane Society and while that experience was fine, this was better. I actually got packets of information on owning a cat - how to adapt them to a new home, past medical/vet information, general tips etc. While I know how to raise a cat from experience I felt like their education to owners was extremely helpful. They also let me borrow a carrier for free to bring my kitty home in since mine was broken. My kitten was in tip-top health, very clean and well adapted to human interaction upon adoption. I liked knowing she lived in a person's HOME, not just a tiny metal cage, until adoption day.

I had a terrible time trying to adopt a cat from this charity. Nothing but red tape and nightmares. I tried to adopt an Emotional Support Kitty for my daughter. Even when I personally guaranteed the cat, said I would be primary owner and caretaker, and offered to provide legal documents proving my daughter's need it wasn't good enough because my daughter needed the cat declawed. Staff was rude and very unhelpful. Would not recommend at all.

I have to give this place 5 stars for helping my friend out and rescuing many cats! They even gave me gas money for driving out there/ these people are doing great things for animals and genuinely care for their safety.
