Home To Home Moving

I am giving this a two star instead of a one, because the Calgary branch of Home to Home is amazing. Red Deer though? Avoid. The movers themselves you could tell were tired, and tried their best - but they broke, scratched, and damaged enough of my furniture that it was clearly carelessness at the end. We are talking gouges taken out of the fabric on a chair, chunks missing from my nightstand and shelves, and the leg of my tv completely snapped in half (and if you have seen a tv stand, they're a very hard thick plastic)I believe some of the damage happened during the drive from Edmonton to Calgary, as the driver of the truck was rather chaotic. When she drove into the parking lot of my building, she took out our garbage bin and just kept going.But the move itself wasn't even the worst of it. Trying to book the move with the Red Deer branch was a nightmare. When I scheduled my move with Dimmy in Calgary he was thorough, pleasant, and gave me all the proper paperwork. The Red Deer branch of Home to Home didn't send me any paper trail of my move prior to, I had to consistently call them for follow ups and to confirm my move (which good thing I did - they had the wrong CITY listed on both my addresses!), and then when I talked to the office about the damage to my belongings, they were very threatening. I was told that they didn't have to offer me any compensation" in a threatening way. Well

We had two men come over to our house to move some furniture from one house to the next. We were more than happy with efficient and speedy job and still done with care. We will be using them for a long distance move in the near future and am looking forward to a seamless transition. Howard Friesen.

My family and extended family have utilized Home to Home Moving a total of 5 times since 2003. This is a well run company that communicates thoroughly. All the guys were polite and worked diligently every time. If I ever move again I would use Home to Home in an instant. Truly Excellent service, punctual, safe, reasonable prices and polite...couldn’t ask for anything more during what can be a very busy & stressful time!!

Doug and his crew at Home To Home moving where very helpful and professional.They where able to come help move us with very short notice during a pandemic in -30 weather.They arrived on time and dealt with a poor domestic situation with efficient time management and expert experience.I can’t thank them enough for helping us through our difficult move.Highly recommended and will using them again.

Terrible experience! A senior and a hung over, or drunk man showed up (stunk of liquor and banged our walls and railing) to move our stuff. They never introduced themselves, and they were so slow, and the hourly cost was high for what actually got moved!!! Our house was a bi-level, so nothing too complicated. They spent so much time plastic wrapping that I felt hardly anything was actually moved. Half or more, of the total time spent was wrapping random stuff that we didn't feel needed to be wrapped! So, at $150/hr, we were paying $75 of that hour to plastic wrap everything before it was moved. What a cost! And what a creation of TRASH! After 3.5 hours of hardly anything getting into the truck, we pulled the pin as our bank account went dry and barely a thing was moved! We asked them to take our King bed and be done with it while we phoned and rented a Uhaul! Trying to rectify things afterwards with Doug was a ridiculous mistake. They ripped the finish right off the railing of the house we moved from by bumping a lazy boy frame on it. I sent pictures and nothing was done to rectify the damage- cause I suppose we weren't going to own it anyway. Wished I had NOT paid when I told the movers to finish and go! First time I hired a moving company and probably the LAST. I should have heeded the 3 star review I had read, but my mom had, had a good experience, so I threw caution to the wind!!!! One star is for them showing up promptly on time. Thank you UHAUL for being so available and accommodating!

Just used these guys to move within Red Deer, excellent to deal with and they had wrapped everything nicely, very careful. Would highly recommended!

I recommended Home to Home to a client, and they were phenomenal! They were on time, worked quickly, and didn't damage anything. They were also very helpful over the phone when we were gathering information and quotes.

My family has used a few different moving companies over the past few years, some based in BC and others here in Alberta. I have to say that we have never had any problems with any of them and I am happy to say that this company has maintained our expectations. The owner was extremely polite from the first phone call and confirmed our move as promised the day before. The crew that arrived were polite, quietly efficient with their time keeping and care of our belongings. Moving during this pandemic has not been easy for anyone and this company did an excellent job. Many thanks.
