Overserved my friend and then when we politely declined to pay for the drinks because my friend was clearly too drunk to have ordered them in the first place, They forced us to stay and pay for drinks that we didn’t have and that shouldn’t have been served in the first place. When I decided to drink one of them since we’d already paid for it we were rudely forced to leave by bouncers. I never write reviews and this happened months ago but I have heard similar stories since so I thought I should say something. Will never come here again

the jazz night here is incredible, to say the least. you need to get here EARLY so you can secure a table and enjoy the band, but it is so worth it to settle in for an evening of delicious drinks and beautiful jazz. the tarot offering was also such a fun part of the evening, i really enjoyed my reading and it made for a great date night.

I've been to the Jazz and Tarot Thursday twice now and it's always pretty fun. There's an interesting speakeasy atmosphere with live Jazz music, drinks are pretty good and not that expensive ($12-14 for a cocktail) and the service is intimate and friendly. The personalized tarot card readings also give a sort of mystical vibe to the place which is pretty nice.

amazing vibes! my friends and i got there around 8 on a thursday and they were very accommodating (we were 6). the jazz music was so soothing and the drinks were delicious! i had the white russian and my friends had the espresso martini and the the la plumme. the waitresses were the sweetest and we had the best time! the bathrooms were also great for pictures and just for hanging out

Datcha is a must. Amazing assortment of DJ’s, some of the most talented in Montreal. I recommend checking who is playing beforehand and if they suit your taste. If you come before the dancing, the bar has an amazing “sit down and have a cocktail” vibe. Dark and mysterious. Order the Moscow Mule, if Datcha had a taste that would be it. The candlelit jazz night is also mind blowing. One of the best spots in the city.

Overall ok, but not great. Good potential, but let down by mixed staff professionalism and very aggressive tipping demands. We were maybe unlucky, but wouldn't return.Good:Djs in Datcha were solid, decor and drinks in Kabinet were good. At peak time in Kabinet, understandably slow service, but good drinks knowledge and ambiance. Other friends say they enjoy the tarot nightBad:As other reviewers say, the staff were of mixed professionalism, some were very rude. I've worked in the bar & nightclub industry for years (in Anglo and French context, but outside Montreal) and we would've fired one of the staff. Also, my friend was told in Datcha he wouldn't be served unless he tipped more. I similarly saw a foreign customer being strongly pressured to increase his tip, which left a poor impression. Owner - assuming your staff get the tips, you're losing sales because of this.We never have problems elsewhere, so probably won't come back here

3.5 stars.Leaves something to be desired, say, like a day-old croissant. Upon walking in, one finds an overcrowded coat check, which, passing through, opens up into a low-ceiling dark room with a few chairs and booths and cheap lights sprinkled about. NPC techno plays in the background, often, with sometimes a flair or two of creativity coming through. The beer is flat, though. Much too flat. The vibe is open, relaxed, even a bit friendly. It’s not uncommon to hear loudly spoken: “Hi, I’m here visiting from Toronto. What’s your name?” What to make of it all? Hard to say. Worth checking out. Definitely go. You’ll need to see for yourself. But for myself, this one does not spark joy.

Vibes were amazing until someone decided to just go kick me out fir no reason ( really no reason) even though I really did nothing wrong ! So .. it’s a hillbilly bar after all , trying to look modern .If you are. Single decent man trying to have a beer a listen to some good music , just steer away from that place

I had a great experience here - just make sure you look up the DJs that are playing on the night you’re going. You can find their weekly schedule on their Instagram! There’s a lot of variety of DJs that play here so make sure you’re going to vibe w their style. It was also pretty nice to have a curtain-separated bar to go to when we needed a bit of a break from the main room.

It’s a nice bar honestly, it has a lot of potential! However if you’re over 25- I would not recommend (I experienced it). It’s a young crowd! The bar/restaurant next by is lovely, you can access it from the datcha.
