I had gone with midwives for my first pregnancy because I was so scared of not knowing which doctor I would get when it came time to deliver. Unfortunately, I had an awful experience with them in which they made bad decisions during my labour that put my baby and I at risk and left me with postpartum trauma.This pregnancy, I decided to go with an OBGYN. Dr. Okon was the doctor on duty the evening I went into the hospital. My placenta started to detach and I was bleeding heavily. Dr. Okon was so thorough with his examination of me, blood work analysis, and monitoring of the baby constantly. I felt safe and that both my baby and I would be okay. In the end, I was able to deliver without requiring a C section.I couldn't have been in better hands. I was petrified when I learned of what was going on but once I saw the steps he was taking in my labour process, I knew everything was going to be just fine.I just wanted to comment that with midwives, they were good talkers and listeners during my pregnancy but were extremely unskilled when it came to my complicated delivery.What I learned from my previous experience is that I didn't need someone to be my counselor and to talk to me sweetly - I needed a professional to ensure a safe and healthy delivery for my baby and myself. Dr. Okon proved to be that professional. I didn't need him to give me all the details, have lengthy conversations, all I needed was his care, and that's exactly what we received (and beyond!).Thank you Dr. Okon!!!

I was referred to Dr. OKON through my doctor, and my surgery was to be in on a Friday and out on Saturday morning. But this doctor messed up my surgery so bad that I was to have no scares and to be home with my child. It ended up being 4 more surgeries and major kidney infection with him nicking a major urinary track. And I am 8 months later still dealing with his mistake. SO ALL I HAVE TO SAY ISDO NOT EVER USE THIS DOCTOR TO DO ANYTHING. BECAUSE HE JUST MAKES MISTAKES AND HAS HIS UNION HAVE IS BACK.

Dr. Okon has been instrumental in providing the right suggestions throughout our pregnancy process. He ensured we understood all of our options and provided telemedicine options and advice even over the phone since we came from out of town. Thank you. We are not sure why there are so many negative reviews that seem so unreasonable. We hope it's not a case of discrimination against the minority-owned clinic. Please use your discretion with reviews, call the clinic, speak to the doctor, and you will be able to make your own judgement—great OBGYN clinic.

It took 4 months to get in to finally see the doctor. I waited two hours passed my appointment time before I was seen in a waiting room full of equally frustrated patients.When Dr. Okon came in, he was very condescending and made me feel as though my problems were minuscule. He didn’t ask me any questions or write anything that I said down. He didn’t offer me any solutions, and I left with absolutely no information, no prescription, no referral, nothing.Don’t waste your time here. If you doctor refers you here, ask to be referred elsewhere, where you might actually be helped.

Amazing experience that someone can expect during their journey of pregnancy. Doctor Okon himself is very kind and calm personality. Helping and caring staff. Thanks everyone for taking care of me and my little one..

Worst OB there is out there.Would not recommend him to my worst enemy.First of all he doesn’t deliver babies anymore so there’s that. Appointments are short and meaningless.No bedside manner. Condescending, rude, looks down on people.Does not Inform his patients about anything.Literally lied to me that he had spoken to me about Membrane swipes yet he did not.Absolutely regretted continuing my Pre natal visits with this man.I’m my opinion he should retire!

AMAZING!!! The first gynaecologist to sit and explain everything to me thoroughly. What I was dealing with. What my options were including possible outcomes and side effects. He listens and makes sure you understand as well. The only doctor who has been 100% honest about fibroids and the pain they cause. I wasn’t going to go because I was tired of the daily discomfort/pain and never getting proper help or care from specialists (over many, many years). I’m so glad I went! His co-workers and assistant were wonderful as well. Thank you!!!

I have personally never had an issue with Dr. Okon. He is quick and to the point and always asks me if I have any questions at the end. I get how some people may feel their concerns are not considered. His demeanor may come off as rude or inconsiderate; however I believe he is very caring and compassionate. He is the first OB after four children being conceived on birth control ( the last one being created on the Depo-Provera) who was willing to talk about tubal ligation and have that in my chart and be willing to do that procedure. I have had four different OB, both being males and females, who had either told me I was too young to have one, or that I may want more children later in life. He was the only one who hasn't belittled me by saying, I didn't take my birth control right." or tell me I haveI would recommend him"

Best staff ever I have seen :)Very helpful,polite and willing to work with you if you ever need to change your appointment timing .Dr.Okon is very polite ,explaining everything during each appointment and reads your previous report plus read your chart . Ask you nicely if you have any questions then let me know .He is knowledgeable as well .Our job is to respect front line people then we can see their approach towards us .

I had midwives for my pre-care but doctor Okon ended up having to deliver my baby. He was very nice, did a wonderful job. When i went to his office for my appointment after the birth to see how I was healing, there was no wait at all. All the staff were very friendly and doctor Okon was thorough, friendly and made me feel very comfortable. This was a huge change from my experience with a different OB in the st catharines area. There are always going to be bad reviews about any OB, so a good experience deserves lots of recognition.
