Our awning project with Shadings had a few bumps in the road at first, but we were pleased with how they owned up to their mistakes and made things right. Despite some delays in obtaining the correct fabric and reinstalling the awning due to the winter season, the team took prompt action once weather permitted and delivered a satisfactory end result. Communication throughout the process was excellent, and we especially want to shoutout Mercedes, our representative, for her help and support. Thank you!

When you drive an hour to a store and give them all needed details for your project, and the sales person promises to send you an email with necessary details but he does not email you for a month. You will assume that they don't care or do not...Knowing well that we expressed our interest in the styles and the cost...Here is

We hired Shadings to do custom drapery in our entire house. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with them. Aside from our initial in-home consultation with our salesperson, everything else has been a disaster to say the least. Long story short, we ended up paying around 35% of the total price (pre-tax) that we initially agreed to (mutually agreed upon by Shadings and ourselves, as they were unable to deliver a product that met expectations), and we still feel that we paid too much. We would have been much more satisfied buying curtains from Amazon for a fraction of the price with much less stress. This company is based in Montreal, so everything takes a long time to do (e.g. the stitching was unravelling in one panel and it took around 2 months for the panel to be stitched and brought back to us). Communication is very poor - there's no transparency and you need to follow-up with them constantly. Not one person kept us updated on their own. The workmanship of the curtains was poor (e.g. uneven hems, wrinkling of fabric, pulls in the fabric, etc.). Shadings had multiple opportunities to rectify the situation and it felt to us like they didn't even try. Each time they came to our house, either they didn't fix the initial issue or the issue had been made worse. It took from the end of June 2022 to January 2023 for our project to be 'completed'. To make matters worse, we were stuck with Shadings as they drilled holes in the ceilings/walls, in order to install their curtains. So even though Shadings offered us a full refund and they were willing to take back the curtains, we would have been left to patch all of our ceilings/walls (This, after having fully renovated our entire house. Patchwork on walls is never the same). In order to avoid further stress and expense, we decided to stick with their curtains. However, the service and product is sub-par and we are quite dissatisfied. Unfortunately, Shadings is not a company that we will recommend to anyone.P.S. After posting our review, one of the owners of Shadings sent us text messages accusing us of providing false information in the review. Without going into great detail, the owner claims that it is unfair that we are unhappy with the project. This is just another example of the poor customer service with this company.P.P.S. We see the response from Shadings. We did NOT receive a test sample. Had we received a test sample, we likely could have avoided this entire mess. In fact, Shadings' own employees admitted to us that they were only seeing the curtains for the first time when opening the boxes in our home. We are not stating that Shadings is incapable of having successful projects. However, our project was a complete disaster and we would not recommend this company. As we told the owner, we do not need to agree, however they do need to be respectful of our opinion and use this project as a learning opportunity, as there were multiple misses from Shadings' end with our project.

Amazing shades, best in the business. Only advice I can offer you when getting shades from this company is to specifically ask for Mercedes. Best sales/customer representative in the whole company. She will go above and beyond for you. Kind, understanding, honest and just over all wonderful.

Upon walking around Home Société, we found Shadings when they first opened. We decided to schedule a consult since we had just bought a place and were also looking to do motorized roller blinds. Staff was very professional and were able to figure out what we wanted and what our needs were, also being extremely patient since we vaguely knew what we wanted and wasn't able to articulate. Some of the concerns we had were glare from the opposing window of the TV and the volume of the motors (there are quite loud ones on the market) since we'll have multiple. During the entire process, Shadings was very open to answering any questions we had and was very responsive.Our project ended up being pretty big and they were able to get it done within the same day, although it did end up taking the entire day. The installer worked quickly and was also very professional and respectful of our place.I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to do any type of window coverings and be confident that they would be happy with the outcome.

Jessie provided wonderful customer service. She was communicative and went above and beyond with home visits, hosting us at the showroom, and helped with creative input + helped us find ways to achieve the look and feel we were going for within our budget. The window treatments we got from Shadings - including curtains for our nursery and automatic roman shades for our bedroom - are not only beautiful to look at but are also high quality. The installation process was very professionally done and the service providers were very friendly.

Jessie was very friendly and professional. She took the measurements and helped me choose the perfect and cost-effective fabric for my window coverings. She also offered me very interesting features like remote control and centralized scheduled auto drawing of blinds which I opted out of for the time being but I am considering for a future upgrade. The installation crew was also great and they were conscious of the little details like the placement of the blinds and I was glad they confirmed with the distance of the blinds from the window, which I preferred to be as close to the window as possible. They initially made a mistake of almost installing the living room blinds at the edge of the window sill which I didn't like but they fixed it patched up the holes and installed it in its proper place. They ensured that I was satisfied of the install before they left, and there were just a few smudges on the fabric which they happily cleaned up. The next day, though, I noticed I was missing a few plastic caps that go on the ends of the blinds but they promptly shipped them to me. Overall, I'm satisfied with their product and service. Price is a bit up there but they delivered as expected. Thank you.
