Sands Funeral Chapel Cremation and Reception Centre (Victoria)

Sands Funeral Home was respectful, thoughtful, professional and accommodating to our family on the passing of my wife. Most of the family, myself included, lived out of town and cremation, viewing, memorial and internment were all at separate times and places so it was not a straightforward service that they provided. Nonetheless they were able to make everything work wonderfully well. We are so pleased that we chose Sands Victoria. Thank you to Brad, Huntley, Odessa and all the other staff who were so kind and made the whole process go as smoothly as possible.

The service we received from Brad Baker was special and well over our expectation. My mom passed away unexpectedly at age 89. Although we have a small family in town, we have large number of relatives overseas. There were also many of my mom's friends would like to attend in person. Brad helped us going through the planning carefully, including the timing of the service and online video streaming. The entire service went very well, which provided a centralized platform for all our relatives and my mom's friends to celebrate her life and pay final tribute. Thank you Brad!

I can’t explain how much I truly appreciate the care and respect the staff showed. Jennifer, in my opinion, went above and beyond which meant so much to our family. Obviously it is no fun occasion to be using these services but they treated our loved one like she was their loved one. Laura from Sands on Quadra in Victoria was amazingly compassionate, professional, engaging and supportive. We lost my uncle suddenly and quite unexpectedly. She was patient, and ensured that she provided information verbally and in writing. She provided options for keep sakes, with absolutely no pressure. She felt like family. I am grateful for the support that she provided for my aunt, and for her dignified conversations about the process. She made an otherwise devastating time in our lives, as streamlined and stress-free as was humanly possible. As stated previously, by myself and by others, she wasn’t just professional, she was supportive and kind. My family would highly recommend Sands to help them navigate the journey after the loss of a loved one.

Due to cultural law and tradition, my Mother needed to be buried within a 24hr, or close to that, period.Anthony, with his professional, respectful, personable manner took charge and acted quickly. He expedited all paperwork that was essential in order to make my Mother’s funeral happen. I literally was able to take a deep breath and relax like he suggested I can do. He turned my stressful situation, due to time constraints, into a relaxed experience. No one likes to have to plan a funeral, having had to plan 2 in the last couple of years I cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for Sands and in particular Brad for navigating me through each of them.
