Horseshoe Slough Trail

A great walk along the Fraser River's South Arm

Went at night, good spot for star gazing and astronomy, related activities as there is very little light pollution. Meanwhile close to services and shopping center. Seems like a good spot to fish, if you're into catching your dinner.

I work near shell road and in our area the age of this trail is getting bad, the trees are falling down a safety hazard. The parks board is not replacing or repairing this rare nature area. Soon it be gone and not replaced.In summer the area is less beautiful and looks like a war hit it. Many animals and birds left to go elsewhere to get nesting ground and bird seed left on the trail brings rats to eat on the pathways. Rats are a huge problem as litter is a high problem in the creek too.All the problems need to be addressed to improve this treasure or it will disappearSad this got so bad as this. To shameful it is.

Parking area is nice and clean. Trail is not very exciting, but it is fun for the kids on occasions when a train comes through

Simple and not super busy. Usually walk from Horseshoe Slough to Finn Slough. It's about 6500 steps for those who want a leisurely walk along the river. Lots of bikes during the summer and a cars driving down along the river.

Nice little trail around the slough. Pretty much flat for 3.5 km length. It has some wooden bridges which can help you shorten your walk or take a quick detour.
