AgeCare McKenzie Towne Long-Term Care Home

I visited today for the first time with my sister and brother in law to visit my mom. I was so happy to see that all the staff are so nice and helpful, they all had great attitudes and treated my mom and all the other residents with care and kindness. The place was nice and clean and bright. I feel a hundred times better knowing my mother is being treated properly and her health concerns are taken care of promptly!

I had the privilege of working in the Comfort Care program for the last 4 months in this facility. I've had the honor of working alongside some of the most amazing, caring and dedicated people I've ever met. It was truly one of the impressive experiences I've had in my entire working years. The management and staff have an amazing awareness of the needs of the residents. I will truly miss it. My sincere thanks to all of you❤

I went here with an open mind, Looked great from the outside" My experience was that worse than a hospital setting.. Front desk nobody there an aid that was handing out sandwiches to patients actually had to make the person aware

I am a staff member at this care facility and work with some great team members however the morale of staff here has really taken a dive since the director of care has stepped into her role.The DOC is biased and plays favorites, especially with her son who works as part of the maintenance department here.Since stepping into her role, other departments are having to take on certain responsibilities that maintenance was previously in charge of such as moving, unloading, lifting (at times heavy items/equipment).ALL staff working at the site notice these changes and the conflict of interest is blatantly obvious.Unfortunately, this is not the only area where things have changed for the worst. The DOC does not consult with front line staff before introducing significant changes to staff roles and responsibilities. She is not approachable to constructive feedback and instead shrugs staff off when concerns are shared with her and even behaves in a hostile and authoritative manner if you happen to disagree with her. Any attempts at dialogue/discussion are quickly shut down.I know MANY staff that are actively looking for other opportunities due to the changes introduced by the DOC.To AgeCare corporate office, I would implore you to spend some time on site and talk directly with the frontline staff about the morale and shift in culture this home has experienced. You will hear about how staff feel like we are being talked down to, unheard, intimidated and even fearing getting injured due to maintenance responsibilities being added on.Ultimately, with poor morale and high staff turnover, unfortunately, it is patient/resident care that will likely suffer.

Looking for age care for my Aunt. McKenzie made our top 3 list. It does not have the lodgey feel most homes have. They offer majority private rooms unlike most homes. Only thing missing is personnal showers in each room.

Hi I just want you to know that I went to see my Mom today with my sister and my husband and I feel wonderful my Mom is a residence here they are wonderful she is doing so well I can’t even express how good they are to her . This staff is amazing and you can certainly tell that the residents there are their main priority they go above and beyond to help my Mom and the other residents. All of the staff and management are absolutely looking out for my Mom’s best interest. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for loving my Mom and taking such wonderful care of her

I am so happy my dad gets to call this place home now.The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend getting on the wait list for this place.

The director of care at this care home does a top notch job of taking care of the staff and the seniors.Job aside, you can tell that she cares about the well-being of everyone, is very professional and courteous.

Looking for lodging for my Aunt. This place definitly has a good feel. Not so Nursing Home feeling. Large and spacious rooms in comparison to other lodges. Friendly feel does NOT smell bad.

Months ago, I did a review about my uncle in this center. I made some criticisms about this health center for some things that were done wrong. Fortunately, the center corrected these failures in time and they were in contact with us. My family and I are happy and calm to know that my uncle is safe and well cared for.
