We did two medium size remodeling projects (3 months and 2 months, respectively, in 2019-Q1 and 2021-Q4) with Bradley Construction, on our 110 year old house in Hintonburg.Bradley Construction came highly recommended (short listed) by our designers (leading designers in Ottawa) based on prior collaborations (several large remodelling projects).Andrew (the owner) was involved personally throughout, as he apparently does for all projects. We found him and his team (members and sub-contractors) to be excellent and trustworthy.The approach to cost estimation was thorough, involving an initial meeting, thinking time, a second walkthrough and a final analysis.The estimates held up (both projects) within a prior disclosed contingency margin - a lean one, based on our evaluation of other contractors. They were also very good, and fair, in handling unplanned work (amazing what you find in old houses).In our opinion their rates are quite competitive given our client experience, their track record and pedigree, and the market environment, based on quotes from other top contractors.They delivered the project within about a week of schedule (both times) and we were very happy with their high quality work in all areas: demolition (incl. asbestos handling), carpentry, beams, footings, insulation, drywall, joist repair, flooring, tiling, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, re-routing of several systems, painting, and trim - including some efforts that went above and beyond our expectations.They’re also really good about cleaning up, which made it easier to visit the site during the project, and a very enjoyable and exciting re-entry experience.Given both of our experiences, I have nothing but praise for Bradley Construction and would recommend them as a sure bet across schedule, total cost, mitigations and quality of the work - especially for larger projects where one might be exposed to some risks.If you’re planning a project, talk to them ahead of time as they’re in high demand.

We used BCI to completely reno our 1950s style home in the Riverview Park neighborhood. We are extremely happy with the results, Andrew and team have high standards for quality, and respect timelines. Andrew was always available for questions or quick modifications, which kept the project moving. I highly recommend!

Andrew Bradley and his crew delivered.As well as new construction of a major addition to our 1876 victorian home (sun room, mud room and car port) they renovated and repaired parts of the house we had gutted for renewal and modernization: all the bathrooms, master suite, kitchen, entry, parlour, hallways and over twenty doors...With careful workmanship and a shared desire to maintain the historic character of the house, Andrew proposed solutions that fit within our budget while elegantly addressing the many issues that can present themselves when you get behind the plaster of a 150 year old home.He connected us with several trades and suppliers (design, engineering and drafting, electrical, plumbing, siding, tiling, flooring, staircasing, HVAC, insulation and roofing) that also performed beyond our expectations; results are so much better when you have such a strong team that works well together.All this through the early uncertainties and challenges of COVID-19.We would recommend Bradley Construction for any project, from a simple basement reno to brand new construction, especially if you are looking for a team that understands and can work within the constraints of a 19th century residential building.

Fantastic experience with Bradley Construction in 2021. Project was a main floor renovation (gutted kitchen dining and entrance, windows and patio doors moved, refloored, removed bearing wall, rerouted HVAC) and upstairs bath (gutted). Andrew makes the whole project an easy experience from initial consultation through final walk through. He does things properly too: no cutting corners with permitting, engineer, abatement planning etc. His quote for our project was spot on - no ´surprise ´ additions or other BS. He isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for. The quality of his work and that of his subs is excellent across the board. His crew is friendly and respectful as well. Andrew has really high standards and keeps a close eye on details. And when things go wrong - as they often do on complex projects - he makes them right. In addition to coming on budget, our project came in almost on time - and the delay was caused by supplier issues rather than anything Andrew did wrong. Finally, and this may be the best thing about working with Bradley Construction, Andrew doesn’t disappear when the project finishes and the last cheque is cashed. He stays in touch and is quick to follow up and address any little issues that pop up. Great quality, great service, total integrity.

We are extremely happy with the finished product as well as the way the project was handled from start to finish. We ended up renovating at the height of the pandemic and despite all the additional challenges this brought to the project, Andrew remained professional and calm, continuing to deliver well-thought out and effective solutions. We have used Andrew and his team 4 times in the past few years. The most recent was an impeccable job building a home gym with heated cork flooring. The biggest was a major renovation of our kitchen a few years ago. They took down load bearing walls, put in new support beams, installed new hardwood and subfloors throughout the house and installed a new kitchen.His attention to detail is unmatched, and the quality of his work is second to none. We hired Bradley Construction to finish our basement and couldn’t be happier with the result. This was a big job, that included digging down to get full height. The owner, Andrew Bradley, was professional, knowledgeable and patient in explaining the whole process and adapting plans to our needs. The entire crew was excellent. This included doing multiple structural changes, new staircase, kitchen, custom built ins and flooring.Dealing with Andrew was fantastic. When small issues arose, he was able to explain everything clearly and we were able to problem solved and come up practical and innovative solutions. The pandemic started midway through our renovation and he was fantastic at keeping our project moving ahead despite the lockdown and supply chain issues.
