It's hard to find good dim sum in downtown Toronto and I think this place makes a strong effort! I ordered several items just to have a taste of everything.Har gow: Mid; nothing special. Big shrimps though.Abalone tart: Loved this! Tasty and unique.Matcha soup dumplings: This was a total letdown. The dumplings were tiny and there was barely any taste of matcha.Squid with oat: This was probably the most value for money as it came in a huge portion. The squid was slightly overcooked but I liked the combination with oat.Siew mai: Huge and yummy! The cavier was a nice touch.Shrimp spring rolls: Nothing special. Good for snacking I guess?Egg tart: Probably the highlight here. The custard had a rich sweetness to it.Overall, this is an above average dim sum restaurant with some hits and misses. Plus points for using environmentally friendly boxes!

If you're looking for a break from the usual Dim Sum fare, look no further than Sue Fung's. Inside the bright, airy dining room you'll find a counter where orders get placed a la fast food style. The dim sum is received on the other end of the room, complete with a condiments table. There's more than ample seating for most party sizes, with the vibe leaning towards a younger crowd that's upbeat but nowhere nearly as loud and lively as a usual Dim Sum restaurant. Food prices are competitive with high end dim sum on the city, but what it lacks in affordability and service, it makes up in quality and novelty. The fried tentacles has a nice twist with bits of oat, while the egg tarts lean heavily into a liquid-y consistency that surprises with a bold taste and a consistent, butter pastry base to compliment. The lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice is extremely moist with ample fillings, and those who like a bit of heat should seek out the extremely fragrant chili oil they offer as well. All in all, a solid option for those looking to shake their Sunday brunch plans up, but be prepared to pay a premium for the food that makes this a harder sell if you're familiar with other traditional dim sum spots in the city.

Nice, small, cozy place. No reservations, we got there at noon on Sunday and waited 25 minutes or so. Well worth the wait!Food is very high quality, feels very clean. For example, the bbq pork filling for the bao and baked pastry had good quality meat, not dry. Ha gow had lots of shrimp inside. Big dumplings, with generous filling. Didn't have anything we didn't like!

Came here for a quick lunch to go. Service was friendly and prompt. The interior was simple but executed in a way that made it look beautiful and well though. Making the simple look beautiful isn't easy.I have been wanting something dim sum related for a few weeks now. I tried the Shrimp & Minced Pork Dumpling W/ Black Roes (Sui Mai). I got the 4 piece option. I think they were good but nothing special. I wonder if they were smaller pieces if that would have made them better.

It's rare to find great dimsum downtown, but Sue Fung is starting to make me think otherwise. Passed by for lunch and really liked a lot of the stuff we tried:- Har Gow: Plump to the point that it was almost juicy- Scallop Shrimp Veggie Dumpling: Fresh isn't a word that's typically used to describe dumplings, but this was light and fresh- Squid Tentacles with Oats: Oats were an interesting texture to the squid, which was tasty but a bit rubbery- Egg Tart: Literally crumbled in my hand as it was super lighy and creamy- Mango Mochi: Strong mango taste, would have liked just a bit more mochi-ness to it.Overall, it was good quality though a bit pricey. Owner is friendly. Kitchen cooktime is reasonable. Place is super spacious and clean (it was actually used as a filming location for a certain Korean show on Apple). I'd definitely go back if I were craving for dimsum downtown.

Food was very delicious - flavours pop and textures were delicate . Siu Mai - juicy. Lo Mai gai - light and not too wet/sticky. Spring rolls - super crispy. Egg tart - very flaky and buttery. The only downside to eating here for Sunday brunch was there was only one person servicing all the patrons, and the food took well over 45 minutes to come out altogether. Hope he gets more help in the near future. I will be back!
