Fantastic Canadian born store for outdoor gear and clothing, with a wide selection of items for hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, camping, running, and other outdoor activities. They have their own line of clothing and gear that is high-quality and moderately priced. They have an environmental ethos, with strong corporate sustainability commitments. This chain used to be a co-op that was member-run, though sadly it's now American-owned.

Since being taken over by another company, they’ve removed all the price tags which is super frustrating. They also will not allow you to return dehydrated food that is fully sealed with a receipt from a week ago.

Best place for anything outdoors. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, never pushy. The stuff they have on sale goes out pretty fast but they still carry a good quantity of products overall. Penny was very patient with us trying on many different backpacking boots and in making sure they were fitted right. She also talked to us about a lot of backpacking/camping gear in general. I also learned that we can get fitted for backpacks there which is pretty cool. Would definitely go back to slowly build up our gear.

One stop shop for all you outdoor recreational needs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is well lit and clean. The ambiance is nice and it is open and airy. Good quality products but sometimes pricey. There are washroom facilities. I have shopped at the store for many years and have always enjoyed the experience. There is lots of parking.

2022 June 5★This MEC location is nicely organized and laid out. Displays are nice. The staff was helpful and knew the products well. Not rushed or pushy.Purchased a MEC bag, great design and durability with YYK zippers.Great service. Free parking.

Almost everything the outdoor person needs. Whether you are into hiking, biking, kayaking, camping etc. this place has it. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It can be pricey, however they often have sales going on, so you might want to keep an eye open for them.

Doug H. Knows his stuff. We discussed bringing down the weight of a hiking pack and I realized how little I've been paying attention to my weights and that for similar prices I could have cut my pack weight by 20% at least.With people like him working there I don't know why I shop other places sometimes.

Going here is quite the experience. Of course you have everything a normal mall would have but it also has so many things you can do and see! It is also quite nicely decorated. Ice rink, theme park, water park, and so much more!

Spacious store with everything under the sun. And if you are willing to dedicate an hour or two of time, you can locate some amazing deals. I've found an inexplicably discounted rack of Craft jackets, decent winter running leggings, perfect cycling shoes, merino wool socks and hats, t-shirts and most recently, excellent slip-ons. My MEC winter running jacket from 15+ years ago is still perfectly intact minus the zipper.
