Mike's NOFRILLS Scarborough

This is one of my favourite No Frills to shop at. They usually have the items I'm shopping for and that are advertised. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Very convenient location as there are soo many other stores and restaurants within a 5 minute walk there.

The store has all that you need and more at very reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and approachable. The only issue would be that an update to the entire store seems long overdue.

Compared to other grocery stores, it is quite inexpensive. The selection of munchies is good. An excellent location overall for grocery shopping.

I typically drive out a little further from home to this No Frills location because of the cleanliness, the produce and items they have in sale are usually in stock and the employees never seem to hesitate to answer any questions. During the pandemic there have been several rules put in place everywhere, but to my surprise today, they changed their self check out area. Hand baskets only, no shopping carts & Limit 15 items or less. I go to Mike's No Frills on a weekly basis for my shoppong essentials and for this change was disappointing, frustrating and overall wasn't a pleasant shopping experience. The employee that was working the self checkout area, I asked her to call the manager for me, which she did at 10:45am. I had a cart unfortunately, because there were no baskets at the front. I emptied my cart with the 15 items I had and said I'm sorry but I refuse to wait in such a long lineup, I come here on a weekly basis, no issues and this is frustrating, inconvenient and just not necessary. It's unfortunate that the manager didn't call or come to the podium because there were several other customers complaining about the change and no manager to deal with the complaints. Below are pictures of the no lineup at self checkout and the long 3 lineups at the 3 cashiers that were open. I really hope they reconsider the change they made, and how unhappy their customers are and consider to change back.Still no word from head office, it unfortunate that they only allow baskets.

Staff, there are always ready to help especially the cashier. They go out of their way to make sure you get the help you need if you can't location someone yourself. They are amazing employees there.

Get some shopping carts!Went today (21Feb23) and there were ZERO shopping carts available outside! Actually, there was one but he was missing a handle!I’ve noticed recently that there aren’t many carts available yet the store isn’t very full so I don’t know if there is a shortage or if the homeless people in the area stole them or something?!Nonetheless when I realized there was nothing available I left and went to Cedarbrae. Fortunately for me I can do that, what about the locals that have to walk there!? This is my last time coming to this location! Get it together!

Most of the time they are fully stock up then other nofrills and another cheaper prices switch from the port union nofrills to Mike's NOFRILLS which has been a lot better and lower prices than the port union nofrills. It is a bit small, and some rearranging could make it easier for everyone to get by others in isles.

Lots of times i found items are out of stock. So I go only if very urgent otherwise other stores. Plus cleanliness is a factor too.

This place is nice and clean and lots of great deals but the issues I have are standing in the long lines. They put little to no staff on the lines so you could be waiting up to 7-10 minutes just to pay for your items and I mainly go just for a few things. They need a self checkout section for people who don't so lots of grocery shopping.
