Chartwell St. Clair Beach Retirement Residence

My mother was at this home for 2 years. The home is impressive looking and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Her suite was a good size one bedroom with den overlooking beautiful Lake StClair. The biggest problem at this retirement home is the food. The quality of the meals is inconsistent and they serve too much fried and many less than healthy options. Another problem was with the room cleaning service. Even after the weekly cleaning, the room often felt dusty and grubby. My mother was not interested in the activities offered. We found that complaints made through recommended channels were not addressed in a meaningful way or dismissed altogether. Many of her fellow residents expressed similar concerns. When she finally left for a different living arrangement, the management staff expressed no interest in her reasons for leaving. We would not recommend this or any other Chartwell home based on our experience. For the price, we were ultimately very disappointed.

It will not be exaggerated when we say that we were pleasantlysurprised and impressed.The location on the waterfront of Lake St.Clair, the beautifullymanicured grounds and equally well designed indoors gave usa feeling as if we were entering a 5 star resort.The friendly staff and Melissa, our guide was pleasant and knowlegeable. Answered all our questions and showed usall the amenities that are included for retirement living.We are glad we took the tour and would definitely considerthe move when the time comes.

My father moved in here 2 months ago and he is very happy here. He hasn’t complained about anything! Lovely residents, clean, many opportunities to do things and interact with others. I have had at least a dozen meals there with him and the food is excellent. Highly recommend this beautiful facility!

Yesterday, along with the other members of our Windsor/Essex Chapter 7 of CARP, I enjoyed a delicious lunch of a crispy chicken wrap with black olives & fries along with a scrumptious mandarin moose. I also enjoyed your fresh coffee. I extend my thanks to all involved in making our luncheon meeting a fine success!

Had lunch here today as a guest. Not only was the meal fresh and delicious but the room, table setting and presentation of the food was very high quality and beautiful. I felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant. Our server Keisha was very friendly. I felt like I wanted to leave her a tip. Extremely happy with everything. The portions were a decent size. A few guests at my table took half the meal home for dinner. Kudos to the chef. Thank you, Janice.

Excellent and extremely professional retirement residence. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to assist residents and provide a personal experience. The facility is more comparable to a resort, but with better service. They genuinely care about the people staying there. We were under extreme stress when the hospital kicked out my father on Easter Sunday, and we only had a few hours to make other arrangements. We needed a respite room for his post surgery care and Chartwell St. Clair Beach came to the rescue. Melissa was an absolute pleasure to deal with and assisted us throughout the whole process. I still can't believe she called me on Easter Sunday to see how my dad was doing and if we were ok. This is an excellent facility and I would recommend to anyone.

I took my mom to St Clair Beach Chartwell when she wanted to move to Tecumseh, for a tour. We were very impressed with the layout of the rooms, proximity of the dining room and activity centre. The staff were all very pleasant and we enjoyed a nice lunch on site. The view of Lake St Clair and easy access to the adjoining park was a bonus. Mom decided to stay in kitchener but loved the retirement home tour and St Clair Beach Chartwell would have been her first choice

Management is NOT GOOD.Theft that they try to hush, services they promise then take away, residents treated with disrespect, they don’t want staff being kind or interacting with the residents,Short staffed!! Having staff to jobs they are not qualified for,Food quality has gone downhill, and it isn’t clean.SHALL I GO ONMy mother has lived here since they opened in in 2013 approximately. Everything has changed and not for the positive.She is 90 and had lived here for 10 years she should have to move when Management could be changed.Oh and btw . I had the pleasure to take a tour of Chartwell St. Clair Beach Retirement Residence over a week ago, with the remarkable help of Ms. Melissa Bloomfield, a Retirement Living Consultant.I now feel deeply pleased to have made the decision to come and visit this Retirement Residence.It is with a genuine pleasure that I am writing this review today to express my deep gratitude to her for the very informative tour and enlightening meeting I had with her.I also must say that I learned so much from her initial description of the residence and her encompassing knowledge about the daily health care and accommodation services provided to the residents. Her informative & insightful comments and clear explanations helped me understand and imagine what my future life at a retirement residence would be and feel like.She is undoubtedly a valuable asset to Chartwell and her impressive knowledge and collaborative personality command respect and admiration.Finally, I must say that when it is time for me to make “that” decision, and again thanks to Ms. Bloomfield’s professional expertise, I will certainly choose Chartwell St. Clair Beach.I would strongly and gladly recommend Chartwell St. Clair Beach Retirement Residence without any hesitation.Antoine Sassine, Ph.D.
