This is my favourite bakery in the neighbourhood. They have great pastries and excellent coffee. I am in love with the staff there. There are always very friendly and professional. I only experience kindness there. Besides, you can bring your dog inside, and everyone seems welcome. And they always play 80's music ... :D

I've never had something that wasn't awesome. The first few times I went to Doughgirls I was just stopping in and getting a treat as I happen to be out at UBC. Chocolate croissant once (so flaky and delicious) and cookies the second time. An Annie Oakley and a Mexican Mole. Yes, You're reading that right. Mexican Mole cookie. It's spicy. Anyway, on this day I was there with friends for breakfast. I had a chai latte and the Roy Rogers breakfast sandwhich. They served the chai latte in a tea cup with a tiny tea pot for what wouldn't fit. Like some places do with a milkshake. Service is always kind and the selection is vast especially for a small counter.

Han sandwich is excellent as was the eggplant sandwich and the chocolate chip cookie. Super local spot - a bit expensive I can’t see how students can eat here

What an amazing place!I like their cozy retro vibe. The foods are always fresh, and they use good quality ingredients. They also have seasonal items along with regular ones which you never get bored of.My favorites are cream brûlée, country ham baguette, egg salad sandwich, Julie’s Striata and Anadama grain. They are so delicious and have good portion!!I like that they offer frozen goods and preserved jams/pickles which are convenient and good for gifts too.

Very cute place. Good service and has seating both inside and outside. They have really good freshly made food, but I’m sure the frozen options they provide would be great to bring home. Just note that they can be very busy on weekends.

With the density of the neighbourhood, it’s nice to have a food option like this one that offers coffee and baked goods. Because it has more offerings than your average coffee shop (there is a Blendz down the road) there can be a line up during busy times. When I went the other day, there was a line up and after ordering a flatbread, breakfast sandwich, Korean wrap, a couple of coffees and a couple of cookies, I asked if I could take my 6 year old son to the washroom. They declined the request rather rudely. I know it’s a pandemic, but I think we are at the point where we now people aren’t getting Covid-19 from public restrooms and certain exceptions can be made using a little bit of common sense and empathy. We had to look for another washroom, and then went to a playground about a 5 minute walk away. After sitting down, we realized they had forgotten to pack the cookies we ordered. We walked back, waited in line (again) and let them know they forgot the cookies. They were apologetic, but did not offer anything to compensate for their mistake.Anyway, on to the food. Considering the cost and wait, I expected more. It looked and tasted like the old Bread Garden restaurants from the 1990s/2000s. Fine, but nothing to write home about. If we are in the neighbourhood again, we’d probably opt for some Virtuous Pie instead.
