Sandra Hussey’s Exit Realty website claims she is the #1 Exit Realtor in North America. I think team Fussy Hussey is number one at getting the listing, but we were disappointed with the after-signing service.The for-sale signs are huge and stand out when you drive around the area (in this case Stirling). They get back to you very quickly. They provide free evaluations and will do a “Letter of Opinion” which is what my sister and I needed for probate on my mom’s estate. When we were still wanting to do more cleaning before listing, the team agent, said they would have someone come in to freshen up the house. We said we would be leaving the freezer in the basement (old but still worked). No problem. The agent wanted to know if we would have any objections to an open house - we didn’t. The agent was very enthusiastic about the house and property. The value she suggested was higher than we were expecting but she’s the expert, so we signed. (This was in October of 2022, just after the first interest rate increase).There was no freshening. There was no open house. Twenty days after listing the agent called and suggested dropping the price by 18% - potential buyers said the property was lovely, but it was going to be too much work to fix up. It is our opinion that the property was overvalued to secure the listing.Team Fussy Hussey has the centre page ad in every edition of the local Community Press newspaper. The ad for the house appeared in the November 3rd issue with our agreed asking price of $549,900. The ad appeared next in the November 17th issue after we had dropped the price. It was moved to the top row with a larger more prominent ad. I was impressed until I noticed the MLS number and price did not move with the ad, so the MLS number was wrong, and the price was showing as $850,000. The corrected print ad appeared in the November 24th issue. There was no disclaimer. The agent took no responsibility for the ad being wrong.I was concerned someone seeing this ad go from $850,000 to $450,000 in one week might think that a major problem with the house had just been discovered. The agent downplayed the significance of print ads to sell houses today. The price was always right on the website listing.I was recently talking to an owner of a neighbouring property. There is an Amish presence in the area, and he said he was surprised that one of the local Amish families hadn’t expressed interest. In this potential market, print ads are very important - more important than a website listing.Three days before closing the agent called and said the sale was in jeopardy unless we got the freezer out of the basement. Just Junk quoted a price and arrangements were made – they called an hour before arriving and said the price would be more than double, did we still want them to come? We had no choice.

We needed an assessment done on a property. The owner died without a will, assessment required for lawyer. Sandra was compassionate, efficient and did not charge us . Definitely recommend her.
