Hideout On Howe

So beautiful!Very clean and well kept property, We all had a really great time here. There was always clean towels, firewood, water, & they even took our garbage. I was very impressed by how eco friendly the owners were, and i love supporting their green energy. Very quiet and peaceful property, nice swimming spots, great fishing and beautiful sunsets. The owners are so kind and generous, even offered to take us out for a boat ride!! We will definitely be returning soon :)

All though Chris and Courtney are nice people and fixed any problems we had with the trailer, it was 7 days of sweltering heat, with constant power outages,water outages, and the toilet backing up everyday. Promised us a boat ride which my daughter was so excited about but never happened. They definitely cater to the cottages and made us feel like a burden .had to leave early because after 6 days they were completely ignoring us.worst glamping ever for 300 a night. Sorry bout the bad review. Their son Cache building our fire every night was the highlight of our day

What an area. The view allowed us to watch the sun rise and set beautifully everyday. Chris and Courtney brought us on a great tour of the area which we're glad we didn't miss out on. Our bunkies" were perfect for the accommodations required. We'll be back again."

We just spent the long weekend at the hideout. Chris and Courtney (and the the kids too) were great hosts and even better they are awesome people! Thank you to the whole family for making us feel welcome, making us feel like friends, and hosting this weekend!

Courtney and Chris are some of the most hospitable people I've had the pleasure of meeting. Upon arrival they greeted us and made it feel like home. Courtney and Chris welcomed any questions we had all throughout our stay. The accommodations at hideoutonhowe far exceeded any of my expectations. Every piece of this property was maintained and so unbelievably beautiful. The volleyball court was such an added bonus! The kitchen provided all the cooking utensils that we needed and all of the cooking areas were super organized. There was so much space to eat outside and inside which was great. The bedrooms were all super adorable! Waking up here each day was an experience that I will never forget and I'm looking forward to coming back! Shout out to Rufus!

Awesome time with great hosts. Good place to bring a boat with good fishing too. Or just swim off the docks or borrow one of the clear bottom kayaks. Log cabin was comfy for the 4 of us with a spacious screened in porch if the rain came. And the evening campfire finished off each day, after capturing the nightly sunset of course.

Please do not believe these reviews, they are incredibly inaccurate. It was basically Very expensive camping. The electricity went out all the time and WE were advised to start up a generator to make coffee in the morning, we were also out of water sometimes. The grounds were completely over grown and not maintained at all the inside was dirty. We had to continually ask for toilet paper and drinking water. They failed to tell us that you shouldn’t drink the water. The view however was beautiful. I notice now that all the true reviews disappear and say “this person was not here”. Let’s see how long it takes for mine to do the same. Here is a picture of a washcloth we were given to use and one of the volleyball court that is completely overgrown as well.

Being a greedy person, I was very hesitant in writing this review since I didn’t want others to know about this treasure!!! A one of a kind experience that you can only imagine with an amazing waterfront cottage and unbelievable view! Its the perfect getaway for a couple, group of friends, or simply with your whole family! Tons of exciting things to do such as kayaking, swimming, cliff jumping, fishing, going on a boat ride tour with the owners, outdoor activities (volleyball or bring your own sports accessories since you have tons of open space on your own property), etc. In the evenings, enjoying great times with your loved ones or neighbours over a bon fire having marshmallows and hot dogs. There are 4 outdoor properties that have their own unique feel and you CAN NOT go wrong with either of them! The houses are beautifully done and very clean. This place is HUGE and you have the opportunity to have your own privacy if you wish or the chance to meet other wonderful guests/neighbours staying at Hideout on Howe.A huge plus was that my family enjoyed taking the ferry ride to get to Howe Island. Its only $6 which includes there and back. It was quick and it only took about 10-15 mins. We also enjoyed driving to Kingston for dinner and show which is extremely close by.Onto the best part is meeting Chris, Courtney and their children. You will not meet better host anywhere and better yet sincere caring people that generally are there to make your stay unforgettable! Our younger boys enjoyed spending time with their wonderful children who were respectful, funny, entertaining, and extremely intelligent. Ok, Im now turning over a new leaf to be a better person so I’ll be sure to spread the news about Hideout on Howe with my friends and colleagues. By the way, spaces are limited so we couldn’t wait and already booked again for the upcoming months!!

Spent the weekend here for a girls trip! Beautiful location. Courtney, Chris and their children were super welcoming and helpful! They even took us on an amazing boat trip which was above and beyond our expectations!
